"Welcome back Jisung. I'm glad to see that you're doing better"

Jisung woke up to Renjun greeting him on his bedside, gently moving the strands of hair out of his face.

"Hyung..? What are you doing here? You guys aren't supposed to be here until later in the evening"

"If you're referring to the shifting trials, that was yesterday. And it didn't go entirely as planned"

"Yesterday..?"

"You really don't remember do you..? You don't even remember when Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai showed up?"

"When did they..?"

"Jisung.. You're ok..~!"

Chenle entered the room and immediately hugged Jisung after seeing that he was awake.

"That's right.. Lele, you were awake throughout everything that happened last night. You should be able to tell him what happened right?"

"Tell him what happened?? You really don't remember?"

Jisung shook his head with a dead serious look on his face.

"Well.. Beomgyu-hyung, Taehyun, and Hueningkai trapped us in a mountain ash barrier some time after we fell asleep. We only woke up because Beomgyu-hyung used his lightning magic to shock all of us. I remembered the effect that electric shocks have on you so I tried to comfort you, and you told me that you were scared of what you might've done if you did transform. After that, Taehyun and Hueningkai used their magic over wood and water to surround us with wood from the trees that they soaked with the water. Then Beomgyu-hyung used his lightning magic on the soaked wood, and that amplified the current that continued to flow through the wood and the barrier, which in turn shocked all of us"

"And I ended up transforming..."

Jisung frowned, remembering the pain he felt from the night before.

"Yeah.. But you didn't hurt any of us in the end, and you stopped the mages from hurting us more than they already did, even if you nearly killed them"

"You successfully used fire and lightning magic without showing any side effects from them until hours later"

Taeyong suddenly spoke up, standing in the room's doorway.

"I nearly killed them...?"

"You probably would have if Chenle hadn't calmed you down. He was on your back the whole time, and succeeded in keeping you calm for the most part. However, you did attack me and Yuta when we tried to tranquilize you. But Jaehyun and Taeil-hyung succeeded in that part so you didn't get the chance to attack"

"...I'm really sorry"

Jisung sadly apologized before completely burying himself under the covers.

"Ji.. This isn't your fault. If we hadn't been electrocuted, then you wouldn't have acted that way after shifting. And they ended up making you shift by force anyway. There was no way for you to control that"

Chenle did his best to comfort his friend.

It kind of helped considering Jisung resurfaced his hand from under the covers and used it to hold Chenle's.

"Chenle's right. YangYang actually predicted a few things concerning that. First, when you're blinded by that rage that's caused by those electric currents, you might experience different forms of hallucinations. That could be why you tried to attack me and Yuta like you attacked the three mages. Second, the electric currents that cause your forced transformations might also affect your emotions, which could explain why you feel a sense of rage every time you're shocked. And finally, Chenle might be the only one that can keep you remotely sane when your berserk in that form. While he was with you throughout the whole endeavor last night, you held onto him and refused to let him go, and you were calm just about every time he talked to you. If all of those are true, then everything that happened last night adds up"

Taeyong explained.

"So then..the main reason I went berserk was because I was forced into a transformation from being electrocuted..?"

"That's exactly what we mean. It's also possible that the mages didn't know that would happen. If they knew about what happens when you're shocked, then they wouldn't have tried to kill all of you using that method, especially with a voltage that strong"

Renjun predicted.

"If you want to see what you looked like, here's a picture that Kun sent me. Apparently, Yukhei snapped a few pictures and even captured a video of last night's event from where he was hiding with a few of the others"

Taeyong unlocked his phone and showed Jisung one of the pictures that Yukhei took.

"That's really what I looked like??"

Jisung asked, getting a closer look at the picture after uncovering himself.

"You sure did. And apparently, that form is stronger and just a tad bit bigger than Donghyuck's and Mark's"

"And that's just one of your forms..."

Renjun reminded them, still trying to comprehend everything that they've learned about the Crimsonmanes.

"Speaking of which, there's something else that I almost forgot to mention. Last night some time after you and Chenle fell asleep, we found out something else that you're capable of doing in that form that none of the others can"

"What is it hyung??"

Jisung asked Taeyong, curious as to what could've been so shocking that he could do.

"While in that form, you're still able to speak"
