Summary:
Chuuya woke up to a mix of feelings.

The unpleasant headache he had somehow merged with the pleasant warmth he was cuddled up to.

Wait.

Pleasant warmth?

Chuuya squinted his eyes, only to be met with the eyes of the one and only Dazai Osamu looking back at him. Chuuya reacted instinctively.

Chapter 2: The morning after

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The morning arrived in it's golden glory, with dissipating patches of blue, the amount of grey clouds increased in their number, slowly covering the sky and masking the sunlight trying to peek through and catch a glimpse of the world below, that moved on It's own pace at such a slow, cloudy day.

The rain brought with it the pleasant sound of background noise, the soft pitter patter of the water hitting the buildings and the streets below, the air cleansed itself of the dirt and smoke. The world slowly woke up, some getting ready for school or college, and some getting ready to get to work, some worried about the rain and some made warm tea to enjoy the weather.

The silence remained in one apartment though, the cold spread through the fairly large apartment.

Chuuya woke up to a mix of feelings.

The unpleasant hungover headache he had somehow merged with the pleasant warmth he was cuddled up to.

Wait.

Pleasant warmth?

Chuuya squinted his eyes, only to be met with the eyes of the one and only Dazai Osamu looking back at him. Chuuya reacted instinctively.

He kicked him off the bed.

Dazai groaned from the ground, leaning on his elbows to look over at the bed where Chuuya looked back at him with surprise and something akin to worry in his eyes.

“I thought it was a dream, what the fuck.”

“Good morning to you, too.”

Chuuya glared at him. Dazai ignored it, slowly getting up and dusting himself off before calmly turning towards Chuuya, “Do you remember anything?”

“Remember any— Fuck you, of course I do!” Chuuya seemed almost offended but Dazai knew better than that, especially when an adorable blush overcame Chuuyaʼs face, ears, and neck. Before Dazai could respond, Chuuya hurriedly got up and headed to the bathroom, shutting the door behind him and leaning his head against the cold surface, letting it spread through his skin and ebb his headache a little.

He quickly turned the shower on, turning the temperature warm and stepping into it. Once he was done, he stepped out, only to remember he hadn't brought a change of clothes.

Chuuya almost face-palmed.

Almost.

He grabbed a towel, wrapping it around his waist and slowly opening the door to the bathroom. He sighed once he discovered the room empty before quickly being overcome with the burning feeling of fear that maybe Dazai had left, until he heard sounds coming from his kitchen.

He sighed in relief this time.

Chuuya quickly made his way to his wardrobe, pulling on sweatpants and a good enough hoodie to keep him warm in this weather, along with socks, before he made his way out towards the kitchen. Entering it, his eyes quickly landed on a slightly panicking Dazai, who held a pan in his hands, the eggs in it burned and nowhere near appetizing.

Chuuya blinked, taking a second to process the sight before bursting into laughter, clutching his stomach even as Dazai turned towards him with a huff. Though, catching sight of the happiness on the Gingerʼs face made a smile crawl up his own face until he was chuckling along with him too.

“What did you even try to do?” Still chuckling quietly, Chuuya stepped forward to grab the, now ruined, pan from the pouting manʼs hands and placed it in the sink. He quickly grabbed another and got to work. Finishing in little to no time, he placed the freshly cooked eggs in front of Dazai, walking to sit beside him before he paused, still feeling a little awkward.

But Dazai had no qualms for such feelings, since he quickly grabbed Chuuyaʼs wrist and pulled him to sit on his lap. Chuuya blushed furiously, snaking a hand across his face to somehow hide it, but Dazai obviously noticed. How could he not when Chuuya was being so cute?

“Say ‘ahʼ~”

Chuuya huffed. He spoke, “I'm not a child.” whilst acting like a child.

“You sure do act like one, Chibi. Besides, you look like one too, with how short yo—”

“Finish that sentence and I'll stab this fork through your eye.”

Dazai chuckled in return, urging Chuuya to open his mouth, which he did and took a bite. He grabbed the other fork before scooping up some eggs and pushing them into Dazaiʼs mouth, avoiding eye contact. They continued this until the large plate of eggs was finished.

Chuuya got up to place it beside the sink, only to be stopped by arms around his waist. He froze, feeling Dazai nuzzling into his neck and sniffing at his hair. Chuuya spoke, if only to distract himself, “Are you seriously sniffing my hair?”

“Your hair's soft.”

Before Chuuya could really snap at him, Dazai brought up a topic that was just hanging in the air, “Chibi~, what are we?”

Chuuya swallowed, “W-what do you mean?”

Dazai chuckled, “You know exactly what I mean, love.”

Chuuyaʼs heart nearly jumped to his throat. He swallowed harshly, deciding to just take a leap of risk, “Whatever you want to be.”

The brunet pretended to think about it before Chuuya hit him on his shoulder lightly, “Stop fucking with me, asshole!”

Dazai smiled at him, before leaning forward to whisper in his ear, sending shivers down his spine, “Hmm, boyfriends sounds very matching, doesn't it?”

Chuuya nodded, his blush darkening. He turned his head to hide it in Dazaiʼs neck, feeling a smile creep up his lips.

“I think I'd like that.”

“Don't lie, Chibi, you love that.”

“Shut up, you fucking mackerel!”

Dazai laughed.
