Third person POV

Most of the bath was spent in silence. Mitsuri washed my hair, and I washed hers, but other than that, we barely interacted.
I got changed first and walked down the stairs. Kanae was making breakfast and Kanao was looking at her phone.
"Good morning," Shinobu said as she let out a yawn.
"Morning, Sleepyhead. I made oatmeal today. You can help yourself a bowl," Kanae said as she stirred the small pot of oatmeal.
"Thanks," I replied.
After Mitsuri came down, she ate two bowls of oatmeal, and we left for school.
"I'm so excited for the Fall Festival tonight! It's going to be so much fun!" Mitsuri exclaimed happily.
"Mhm," Shinobu replied bluntly.
Mitsuri paused. She felt as though Shinobu wasn't as excited about the festival as she was.
"Shinobu-chan? Are you not excited about the festival?" Mitsuri asked as she looked down at Shinobu.
Shinobu tilted her head and glanced at Mitsuri as she said, "It's not that I'm not excited...I just forgot about it." She lied. She completely and utterly lied.
The truth was that Shinobu has never liked public events like these, and she still doesn't. She hates seeing people she knows outside of school. It makes her gut curl and feels like she wants to curl up into a ball.
Once they arrived at school, Shinobu and Mitsuri parted ways to their lockers. Shinobu grabbed all of her things for her first classes and then headed to History.
"Ah! Welcome, Kocho-san! Take a seat!" Mr. Rengoku welcomed, as usual.
Shinobu walked to her seat and pulled out her History textbook.
Timeskip to lunch

Shinobu sat down with Genya as she opened her bento.
"So, you going to the Fall Festival tonight?" Genya questioned eagerly.
"Unfortunately, yes, I am," Shinobu said with a sigh.
"What? You don't want to go?" Genya asked. His mood changed entirely when Genya heard this statement.
"No, I hate public events. They're horrible. And after that video was posted, I don't want to go to something like this" Shinobu replied.
"Really?! I don't get it. No one cares about that stupid video and I love the Fall Festival. And isn't Kanroji taking you? She really likes you," Genya explained.
"Yeah, but here's the thing," Shinobu said as she lowered her voice, "I don't really like her. I mean, yeah, she's a great person, but I don't really have feelings for her."
Genya gasped
"You don't?! Then why do you two have so much chemistry?! And aren't you two dating?!" Genya exclaimed.
"Shhh! Quite down you idiot!" Shinobu urged.
"Sorry, but I'm just sayin'," Genya said as he piped down a bit, "Are you really gonna toy with Kanroji like that?"
Shinobu paused. She didn't know what to say to that.
Finally, Shinobu replied, "I never meant to try and hurt her, she kinda just kissed me in the bathroom."
"Hm, fair enough. But it's gonna be hard to get you out of this mess," Genya said.
The bell rang and Shinobu closed her bento. She didn't eat a single bite of it. After that conversation, she had no appetite.
How am I gonna survive this?
