Your vision swirls, then goes black. When you open your eyes you're a little girl from another, much older time
The sun was setting, and it wouldn't be long until the village put their plan into motion. You had a very important job, they said. You got to play as bait. You never played that game before, but it sounded kind of fun. They told you your job was to walk into the woods and pretend you were lost. Maybe a prince was going to come save you. What a fun game. As the sun casts its final rays in a desperate attempt to stay over the land, you are led into the woods by a few villagers. One word a cloak and carried a strange looking knife, you wondered what that was for, but didn't ask. They left you in a clearing, then retreated back into the cover of the trees. You felt lonely. This wasn't fun.
You wanted to go home. It was starting to get cold, and really dark. You were scared. Sitting on the ground, cold and alone, you poked at the dirt with a stick. Then the bushes rustled and you perked up. Maybe one of the villagers had come back to get you. Or maybe it was the prince! You watched the bushes excitedly as a tall figure came out of hiding. You tilted your head, this person wasn't just tall, but he towered over you. Frozen, you watched as he slowly approached you. "What are you doing out here, child?" He asked softly.
"A game" You told him. "I'm bait." You said proudly, sitting up straight.
"Is that so?" He asked as he kneeled down to you. You looked at him. His eyes were a ghostly gray, they were cold. You whined a little and held the stick close, you didn't like this man, although he looked human. The only things that were off were the color of his eyes, and his height. "Have you ever played as bait before?" His voice was soft, almost calming. You shook your head. "Do you know how?" You shook your head again. "Want me to show you?" You really wanted to run away, but all you could manage to do was nod. The man nodded slowly, then smiled softly at you. His mouth began to open up, wider and wider, his teeth started becoming sharper, and he moved his face closer to your's. You screamed as the stranger got ready to bite off your face. You scooted back but it was no use, he just moved closer. He was about to bite down when you suddenly remembered your weapon, and quickly smacked him on the cheek with the stick. He closed his mouth and glared at you, about to say something, but you got up and quickly ran. Hiding behind a tree, you looked back and watched as the villagers came back out of the woods and binded the man's hands together. They pushed him over and bound his ankles together, then rolled him onto his stomach. The man only chuckled, and looked right at you with his cold eyes. The villager with the cloak and the knife walked up to the large man and lifted up his shirt. As the cloaked villager chanted, they began to carve something into the man's back. The cold eyes staring into your soul became filled with fear. You hid behind the tree and heard the man cry out something in a strange language. The villager finished their chant and got up, slowly backing away from the man. When you peeked out from behind the tree you saw the man laying face down on the ground, whatever was carved into his back was dimly lit, the light slowly dying. You whimpered quietly and one of the villagers took your hand. They led you back into the village while a few stayed. You wondered what was going to happen to the evil man.
~~Congratulations, you unlocked a memory~~
