Panic flared through Lucy. She didn't think she said that out loud and even if she did, it should have been a quiet mumble that only dragonslayers could hear, so they should not have been able to hear anything she said.
Not to mention the fact that she just contradicted herself by saying something about someone from her past. Lucy was quickly losing the little semblance of trust they had in her and is steadily replacing it with suspicion.
In other words, Lucy was completely and utterly fucked.
Lucy stayed quiet, completely ignoring Kouens question. But that was fine; Kouen was a (sort of) patient person. He could wait for her answer. They were on this boat for at least a week and Kouen needed his questions answered.
No one would be able to deny the Kou Emperor anything anyways, Lucy is no exception.
Sensing his princess' panic, Loke quickly went to her through his key in an attempt to calm her. Princess, you don't need to tell them anything—let them stay clueless and confused. Hearing Loke's words, Lucy calmed down a little. Right, she still had her spirits with her, she will be fine. If you want, you can come stay in the spirit world forever, everyone would love that! All the previous panic Lucy was feeling slowly faded away with Loke's words.
She straightened up her back and folded her hands in her lap, hardening her face before staring Kouen in the eyes.
"Why should I tell you?"
Any semblance of patience Kouen had before evaporated once Lucy spoke. With a harsher voice than he expected to use, he pressed his hands on top of the table and pushed his chair back to stand up. "You are claiming to have amnesia but somehow remember a so-called fifth Magi. I need to know who that is and you are going to tell me."
Without missing a beat, Lucy swiftly said, "what I said is my business." She glared at him, "so you have no right to tell me what I 'need to tell you', if I do not want to tell you, I won't."
"It is my business. You are currently a guest on this ship that is heading towards the Kou empire, a place that I am the first prince of while withholding information about a supposed fifth Magi that could be beneficial to my kingdom. So you, as a suspicious figure that we have let accompany us throughout the way back to my kingdom, should at least tell us this vital information. Wouldn't you agree?"
(Seeing that things might start escalating, Sinbad found that this might be a good time to leave. He didn't want to get involved with anything like this, Sinbad was just looking for something to entertain himself with after he realized that Lucy wasn't in danger, just. . . somehow kicked the shit out of Judar.
So he motioned for Masrur to follow him, which he of course did, and both of them silently fled the room with one last look at the now semi-conscious Judar and the two arguing—quite diplomatically he might add—leaving them to their own devices.)
Kouen looked at Lucy with suspicious eyes and Lucy looked right back at him with determination. They were silent again, both waiting for the other to make another comment. Lucy was still calmly sitting on the table while Kouen was standing, much more aggravated than he's ever been to anyone. How? He didn't know.
"Fine," Lucy broke the silence. "If you would like to continue questioning me like this, then I won't take up anymore of your time and take my leave." Before Kouen could ask how she was planning on doing that, Lucy stood up and turned to walk a few steps behind him.
"Thank you for your oh-so generous hospitality during my stay," something that actually wasn't a lie (not that Kouen knows that, with the amount of sarcasm laced in it). Not counting the past few hours, the previous day she spent here was pleasant and those around her seemed to be trying their best to accommodate her, even when they barely knew each other.
The only thing that ruined her otherwise pleasent stay was Kouen.
"However I'm afraid our time together has to be cut short." She turned around to meet his eyes and said a cold "goodbye," vanishing in a glow similar to the one she appeared in, right in front of Kouens eyes.
