3: She Is My Everything

      It's 7 30 pm. Alan and Barbara have prepare themselves for the night they been waiting for. The siblings night. Both of them usually do this on weekends, but this is a special case where Barbara actually get 5 A's on her test. After all, Alan has promised to his little sister that he will go out with her today. Alan will take a bus every time he go out with his little sister. He wear his hoodie while his little sister wear her teddy bear pajamas. Before they go, Natasha tell both of them to be careful and be back before 12 o clock. Barbara hug her mom, while Natasha pat Alan's head. Both of them finally get out from the house and start to go to the night market. Both of them are so happy, Alan smile sincerely when he see his little sister smile.

      After a moment, Ryan finally come back from work after a long day in the office. Before he enter the house, he already feel something strange. Alan shoes were missing, his room are so quiet and there are no sounds of Barbara watching her favorite cartoon series. "Honey, where is Alan and Barbara?". Natasha replied his question: "I let both of them out for today. Alan need time to rest after Hoppie's death." Ryan shocked and immediately reach his phone. But, he realised that Alan's sadness came from Hoppie's death. Hoppie is his rabbit. He love Hoppie so much that Hoppie's death affect Alan so bad. He realised that best thing to do is let him release his stress with Barbara. "Perhaps I'm too harsh for him. He used to be a good kid. I didn't realised that he has been stressed out for a long time." Said Ryan with regret for not knowing his son conditions. "It's okay honey, it wasn't your fault. You didn't know that this would happen," Said Natasha to comfort her husband. She hug him from the back, comforting Ryan so that he didn't blame himself for everything. "Thank you, for everything honey. I don't what to do without you by my side." Said Ryan with low tone.

      Meanwhile, Alan and Barbara in the night market buy a lot of food. Alan hold Barbara hand so tight so that he didn't lose her. "Alan, look! A teddy-bear! Can we get it please?" Ask Barbara while she doing her cute face. Alan, a bully in the school, yet couldn't resist his little sister cuteness. He go straight to the stall and ask the price for the teddy-bear. "It's 10 dollars for a teddy-bear. You buying it or nah?" Ask the vendor. Alan shocked, yet he looked at his little sister. He realised that nobody care about him except her. For him, Barbara is everything. He rather die to save her than live without her. He made his choices, he buy it for her. Alan give the teddy-bear to her. Her face shows a smile that made Alan happy. He also realised that Barbara started to feel sleepy, he decided to go home early. Usually they will back home on 11:30 p.m., but he couldn't let her sleep walking. He carry her properly to the bus station.

      It's 10:15 p.m., both of them were waiting at the bus station. Barbara suddenly ask him a question: "Alan, why does your face were sad in the evening? Did father mad at you? You know that I can ask him to stop being angry to you." Alan shocked, as he didn't expect that question. He did a lot of bad thing, but lying to her little sister is not one of them. He always tell her the truth. He couldn't risk to lose her trust by lying to her. So he tell her the truth. "I am not a good person you know? I bully people, I steal their money for fun. I also make fun of them for no reason. I really think that I'm a cool guy after I do that, even now I still think like that. I don't know why." Said Alan. Barbara look at him, hold his hand tighter than ever. She started to hug his hand. "I know that you are not a good guy, but you are a good brother. Better than Kenny and Shaun. They always mess me up. While you, always comfort me whenever I cry, feel sad and angry. After all, you saved me from getting bullied back then." Said Barbara. Alan know that he is not a good guy, but he at least wanted to be a good brother for her.

      The bus come to them, he carry his little sister into the bus. He put his little sister besides. While listening to music, he remembered the past. A year ago, Barbara got bullied by 3 boys on his age. "Please stop! I don't have money anymore! Please stop, it's hurting me!" Shouted Barbara while crying. "Checked her again, she might be hide the money somewhere else!" said one of them. Barbara keep on crying, asking for help, but no one came to save her. Suddenly, she started to lower her tone, as her hope started to fade away. Then, a can of soda hit one of the bullies' head from the back. It was Alan who threw it to them, he looked at them fiercely. "One more finger you laid on her, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!" Shouted Alan while he gripped his hand to punch them. He ran towards them to land a punch. But, he failed. He did it again, he still failed. Attempt after attempt, he still failed to punch them. He got injures so bad, as his head start to bleed, his eyes started to swollen. He still got up to save his little sister. Barbara ran straight to him, hugged him so tight while asking for mercy. "I'll give you money next time! I promise! Just stop hurting my brother! I'm begging to you!" Shouted her while crying, she can't stand seeing her brother got hurt anymore. "Don't! Don't ask mercy from them! We need to do whatever we can to stood up for ourselves, even that means we will lose a lot of things we cared." Said Alan, while he tried to stand up for himself again. He gripped his hands again to land a punch.

      He realised that he became weak. But he need to help and protect his little sister even though he's going to get hurt so bad. Those bullies go to them, smiling like a maniac. Luckily, the teachers came in time and caught them. Alan thanked God for sending the teachers even though it's kind of late. He then checked his sister. "Are you okay Barb? Did they hurt you?" Asked Alan while he's holding his tears. He checked his sister from head to toes. Barbara then cried, hugged her brother while apologizing him. "I'm sorry for letting them punch you. I don't know what to do to." Said her while crying. Alan hugged her back, comforting her, saying it wasn't her fault. "I'm glad you're okay Barbara." Said Alan with his broken face after got beaten by them. " You are my everything Barbara. I love you so much. I'll always protect you and I'll never regret from protecting you." Said Alan. He then hugged her back as he back to the present.

      He look at Barbara, playing with her hair while she was sleeping. Slowly said: "She's my everything, I will protect her no matter what happen." He then kiss her forehead while she was sleeping, while seeing the night's view. "It's beautiful." Said Alan with low tone.
