Ray pov

It had been done. The building was burning down and here he stood at the entrance to a door, his monotone gaze meeting three shocked ones as they looked up at him.

"You're free now." He said. Ray had done his part. They could fend for themselves.

A girl with brown and pink hair stared at him, her amber eyes wide. Two others as well. One with black hair, silver hair crossing over each other and dark eyes full of disbelief and maybe a tint of hope. The other one had a paper bag covering his face.

Ray analyzed every detail. Every small thing, even the small smile that Vincent wore as he offered a hand out to them. Ray wouldn't do the same. No, he wasn't like Emma or Norman.

"Don't just sit there." The words as monotone and cold as his expression. "Get up. You are free."

Time skip

Ray didn't exactly know why they stuck with him, but he didn't protest. He couldn't care any less, as his main focus was in finding Norman and Emma. Just at the thought of them, his heart ached.

It had been about a week since Ray and the other Lambda experiments left that hellhole. It was midday when the girl with brown and pink hair broke the long silence that had settled between the five the past days. Heck, they didn't even know each others names, pardon Vincent.

"Where are we going?" Ray found  this question funny, in a way. They were the ones that decided to follow him. He knew they weren't going to expect an answer. It was clear to most people would naturally avoid someone who isn't in the best state of mind to talk to. This girl was obviously an exception.

Ray mumbled the word, "We." Scoffing a bit, not even looking behind him.

The rest of the day went by in a blur, as it normally did. As the sun set and the group settled by a tree, Vincent started a fire. He started cooking some birds they had caught earlier, and like it or not, Ray did have to eat so he would live. Only for Norman and Emma. Only to see them and his other siblings.

As the silence started growing into tension as they ate, the boy with black and silver broke it this time, asking the what our names were. The tall one with the paper bag seemed non-verbal of sorts so he wrote it into the dirt with a stick.

Once the spitfire and Vincent were all done, they turned to Ray, expectantly. Even Vincent didn't know, as he had only shared his number with him through the notes.

"81194." It wasn't a lie, he just didn't want them to know his name, he didn't know why.

"Not your number, your actual name!" Barbara exclaimed, a tint of impatience edging her tone. She was getting way too comfortable with him. Ray was getting towards the end of his rope.

He sighed, utterly annoyed at this point. "It's Ray. Happy?" He snapped, his cold gaze settling Barbara for a few extra seconds before continuing  his meal.

Vincent pov:

The raven-haired teen was quite interesting. He was mysterious and had a bad temper. Though Vincent had been working with him, he still knew very little about the boy. Even so, Vincent could tell by the determination in his eyes that he had somewhere to be.

He was cold and, quite rude, although Vincent couldn't blame him.

To learn more about him, he decided to make the bold move of asking him about who he was trying to see. Vincent was smart enough to know he had someone he was trying to get to.

If it wasn't silent before, it was now. Even Barbara's loud chewing had stopped. You could cut the tension with a knife. Ray became even more stiff now, still as a statue. Vincent was maybe a little worried that he hit a nerve.

"If you really want to know...... before I was sent to Lambda, me and my siblings were planning an escape. I know they're out there somewhere, and I need to see them." His voice was much less harsh than before.

"Well, for helping us escape, we can help you find your friends!" Cislo pipped in. The others agreed, even Vincent. They didn't have much to do anyways, no where to go or anyone they look for.

"......Thank you."
