𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐘𝐀 𝐀𝐓𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐔 𝐇𝐀𝐒 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐃 𝐀 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 was during his first year of middle school. it was nothing extravagant, just a simple, white, daisy.
atsumu knew absolutely nothing about flowers, but suprisingly, he knew that daisies stood for purity and innocence. he knew that even before you started your long, and rather boring rant on them. atsumu also had known you for quite awhile but you never showed him your interests in flowers t'ill then. but even so, he accepted the small flower with a smile.
it was a small and innocent gesture. he still never found out why you chose to give him that specific flower, or even if that odd exchange had any significance.
though, atsumu grew rather fond of daisies.
atsumu smiled to himself as he placed his order. he took his time researching and digging through his memories for a flower that specifically meant secret love. he thought that confessing through flowers was a bit cowardly—but he also believed that you out of all people might've appreciated the thought. he quickly wrote down a short letter and slipped it in a envelope. he handed the envelope to hana who tied it onto the wrapping of the small bouquet.
"tsum-tsum! why won't you tell us who the flowers are for?" bokuto pouts, looking over atsumu's shoulder to have a good look at the multiple flowers wrapped in brown craft paper.
"yeah, atsumu-san! tell us!" hinata chirps up, eyes glistening at the sight of the bouquet.
atsumu simply ignored the two and gaped at the beautiful arrangement that hana provided him with. "oh—wow, it's gorgeous! thanks, hana."
hana rolled her eyes, "don't sound so suprised, loverboy."
atsumu shot her a glare, "shut yer trap, asshole! i'm not!"
hana smirked, raising a brow as if to provoke atsumu before she turned around to clean up the counter.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐂 𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄 scribbled with a pink gel pen initially gave it away. you thought it was amusing that atsumu had forgotten that you had let him borrow that pen (though he clearly never gave it back)—and that you had spent so much time with him that you had memorised his writing. finally, the bouquet—despite the main flowers being gardenias, there were small daisies that were elegantly placed in certain parts of the bouquet to make the red gardenias pop.
you tore your gaze from the flowers and towards hana's face, which looked rather smug considering she was the one who prepped atsumu's silly confession, "what kind of idiot gifts a florist flowers from their own shop?"
"atleast appreciate my hard work! i even tied the letters on cutely." hana says, gesturing towards the bouquet you were holding.
"theres letters too?!" you gasped, turning the bouquet over to find that there was, infact, a letter. you only noticed the small tag that was adressed to you, but on the back of the bouquet, there was a white envelope sitting perfectly under the white ribbon that held the flowers together.
hana rolled her eyes and left to finish another arrangement of flowers, acting as if you wouldn't have known that the flowers were from atsumu— even without the letter or the small tag, you definitely would've known.
you smiled to yourself when you opened his letter.

writing letters are kind of new to me so don't go and start yapping about how horrible this is and throw it out. to be honest, i'm pretty nervous about this. i've never thought i'd confess and i sure hope you don't think i'm a coward for choosing to confess with a flower and a letter. i'm sure you'd appreciate the thought, right? hopefully, this letter doesn't end up in the trash...i'd probably never live it down if you ended up figuring who's behind the letters and threw them out.
one of the reasons i chose to write to you is because i don't want you to get weirded out and feel uncomfortable around me for liking you, y'know? i'm happy with the friendship we have and don't want you to see me differently just for having feelings for you. anyways, i hope you'll read the next seven letters i'll be sending you—they're all being sent with some sort of flower (i've done my research, don't worry). to end this horribly written letter off; i just wanted you to know that i think you're lovely, that's all!
