After that night I was rushed into surgery and had operation to remove the bullet and part of kidney because the bullet had hit part of kidney and then I was risked to a hospital room where Mathew and Giles and my dad were in and I was unconscious for 4 weeks.

But during them four weeks Chris admitting to killing Elise and he was awaiting trail. I was told by Giles they were waiting for me to wake up so I could them my side of the story.

6 weeks later I was about to do a zoom call to give my statement. I was still bed bound but I could recall clearly what was said. All I was told by Giles is to keep my nerves not getting the better of me and I had a nurse on standby called Mary who my dad is dating funny enough. They met when I was in hospital and they both find each other at long last. My dad is now dating someone his own age.

They asked me if I wanted my face blurred and I declined the offer because I wanted to see Chris's face when he got sent down for murdering my best friend. I heard the zoom calling sound and I sorted my self out and made sure I had my notes in front in case I forgot something.

"We are now going to be joined by Amber woodhead who was elises best friend. She's having to do her call over zoom because she was shot in the kidney and is recovering in hospital." The judge said. "hello Amber how are you doing today?" she asked.

"I'm slight discomfort but I'll manage your honour" I said as the judge smiled at me.

It was a different judge I had but still I told them what happened on the night even though I've been questioned by the police so many times when giving a Statement.

The judge sent the jury away and we waited for their deliverance and it was about just under a hour. The jury came back into the room and jury number stayed standing up while the rest of jury sat down and the judge looked over at the jury number 1.

"have you talked about the case. So is  the defendant guilty or not guilty of killing his fiancée Elise." The judge said.

"we found the defendant guilty of murder your honour!" jury number one said as my heart jumped for joy.

"is the defendant guilty of attempted murder or not?" asked the judge as this one was about myself and this is the question I was hesitating to listen to because it was down the jury's.

"we find the defendant guilty of attempted murder your honour!" jury number one said.

"Christopher pike you are sentence to 20 years in jail for the murder of your fiancée and the attempted murder I will add on another 15 years to sentence that is 35 years total in jail. Court dismissed" the judge said as she stood up and left the room.

That was it the court call ended and I closed my laptop and I looked over at Giles and Mathew and my dad and Mary and I started crying for the year I've been interrogated by the police and the media and been put on trail for a murder I didn't commit because Elise was a sister to me.

Mathew rushed over to me and gave me a hug and he kissed my head softly and he pulled away and sat down beside me still wrapping me in his arms and apart of me wishes Elise was still here because she would be jumping up and down and saying Amber we did it.

Later that night I was looking out of the window and writing appeared on the window in the fog.

"Thank you Abs. I love you and miss you." I said it out loud and my dad came into the room and saw the writing and he smiled at me and sat down beside me on the chair.

"That message was from Elise. You brought her killer to justices sweetheart. You should really proud of yourself because Elise will always live in you but now you can be happy with your life." My dad said as I smiled.

"I miss you too Elise. I love you forever and always." I said as I fell to asleep dreaming of the memories of me and Elise's had together.

Apart of me will always feel guilty because what I said to her on the fight but that's in the past now and I'm looking forward to the future. Its been 2 years since Elise was murdered and life is going good. I set up an organisation for women who are dealing with partners who are abusive and a year ago me and Mathew got married and 2 months after our honeymoon we found out I was pregnant and Giles still a lawyer but he met his wife a young police officer and they married within six months of being together.

But he works for the organisation I set up for domestic violence survivors and my dad and Mary are happy and still together. Chris is still in jail, I received death threats from him from time to time but I'm not phrased by it anymore. Elise is resting in peace now and able to move on in heaven.

I'm sat at home with Mathew and Giles and his wife Emma and my dad and Mary and we have just enjoyed some lovely tea that Mathew made for us. When there is a knock on the door. I foolish pregnant me gets up from the couch and goes over to the door and opens the door and there I see standing in front of me is someone who I thought was dead. I walk into the living room with my eyes widen in shock and I look at my dad and he stands up and his eyes widen in shock and fear as a women who looks like my mum comes into the living room.
