*Michael*

Alarm. Ringing. In. Ear. Ugh.

I slam my palm on my clock, just wanting more sleep. I was tired, and cranky, like every morning. I somehow managed to slide out of bed, rolling onto the floor dramatically before slowly picking myself up. My posters were in some kind of disarray for some reason, and it was kind of annoying, but I couldn't help it. Alex's face could hang over Jack's until I got home. Besides, who can blame me.

After pulling on clothes and updating my Phan fan twitter with a random tweet about not having cheerios, I made my way out the house. My Dad and his wife Sarah weren't in so I didn't have to bother with hello's or whatnot. Everything seemed just as it should be.

Well, that's what I thought.

--

I arrived at the school at some point. I think I was late but I couldn't care less, I was tired and cranky - did I already mention that? I pressed through the blue double doors and entered slowly into the main hall, where people were surprisingly calm for some reason. On a normal day, everything would be quite frantic - it just seemed... off. To the left of me was a bunch of cheerleader girls who were in their cheerleading uniform, probably preparing for some dance tournament, and on my right were the plastics quietly leaning against the staff room wall. I walked forward so that I was central of the hallways a bit, until cheers could be heard from down the corridor causing me to jump backwards in cowardice. I got a sharp glance from one of the cheerleading girls who scoffed at my ability to be freaked out so easily.

Eventually, from down the corridor came a parade of guys dressed in typical American Football gear, yet we don't have a football team here. In fact, we don't even have a cheerleading squad, so what the hell are they doing here. They all came charging down the corridor shouting cheers of some kind, so I thought it must have been a prank.

"Boo!" Calum approached me from behind and shook me up a little, causing me to flinch again. God I feel stupid.

"What the hell's going on," I said through small giggles. Calum cocked his head slightly with furrowed eyebrows.

"What do you mean what's going on?" he replied, a slight smirk on his face.
"No, seriously, what's going on?" I pressed.
"To be honest, I have no idea myself," he said folding his arms and looking towards the jeering team.
"Has nobody questioned the fact that we don't have a football team?" I said resting my chin on his shoulders effortlessly.
"I think you should be questioning more why Luke's on the bloody team," he concluded with a frown, each word making me shake a little. Wait what. I lifted my chin off his shoulders and looked dead in his eyes, my mouth hanging open slightly.

"No joke," he insisted, making me let my head bang into his chest, "it's weird though because nobody seemed to realise but me, so people have been giving me weird looks all day - hey are you alright?" I made an inhuman noise to signal a 'no' to him. Why is Luke on the football team, in that tight uniform, and big jersey's and sweaty clothes. Is he trying to drive me insane... And why would he go into the team, he's too awkward and clumsy to make it, and he couldn't possibly be accepted by the jocks, I mean he was friends with me, the dork of the school. I made another inhuman noise, and Calum knowingly began to scratch the back of my head, right above my neck, where he knew would calm me down. I sort of just got lost in the feeling for a few seconds, feeling like some sort of cat. Calum was the greatest sometimes.

"We should investigate! We can be like L and Light!" he exclaimed with a smirk on his face, anticipating my next move.

"Fine, but I choose L," I stated, to which he nodded in response.

French came about soon enough, where I would really get to question Luke on his motives here. I also really needed to talk to Rebecca, Kat and Michael about the whole potion thing, and if theirs worked. I entered through the doorframe to a startled Mrs Tomlinson, who commented on my early timing to the lesson. She was a nice woman. She was a few inches shorter than me, and had short hair that made her look like Carol from The Walking Dead. Chloe, another friend who sat on the same table as Luke and I, came in next. Luke actually sat in the middle of us both, but she seemed disgruntled by something.

"Sup Chloe," I asked with a small smile. She just rolled her eyes.
"Hey Mikey. Luke's being a dicksquat," she says, exagerating the word dicksquat.
"What do you mean?" I asked intrigued. She then strangely sat where Luke would usually sit in this lesson, to which I awkwardly raised an eyebrow, but she didn't seem to react at all to it.
"He said he would take me out to get lunch, so where does he take me?" she says as if she's about to start a rant. I shrug my shoulders, not really understanding why these two would ever go out alone together. All they ever did together was laugh together and be annoying, and probably talk about The Walking Dead or something, so this was news to me.
"Greggs. He takes me to fucking Greggs, then ditches me for some other girl, like ugh, this was supposed to be his thanks to me for creating the posters for the Football Team, and he promised me, yet he turns his back completely to me. And you know what's worse - I actually thought he was cool. I seriously did, and I was prepared to give him a chance to be friends, but no." She finally finished, whilst everyone else had poured into the class, yet Luke still wasn;t anywhere in sight.

"He's an idiot," I said laughing. It's something I say often, because he is an idiot. But he's not dumb - I don't understand why he would do something like this to Chloe, and why they're not friends. In fact, I want to know why they've never been friends. I'm starting to feel like this is some parallel universe or something, where Luke is super sporty and doesn't care about his grades, and hates me and anime or something. Oh God, what if he hates me. What will I do if I can't sneakily hold his hand at sleepovers anymore, or save his nudes on my phone and joke about them with him, or talk about anime with him and listen to his rants. What if it's my fault? What if it's the witches fault?

I sunk in my chair and gloom felt like a physical object which spread across the room, causing even Chloe to look slightly concerned about me, but I remained vigilant - I think. Okay, I was devastated, and felt guilty as fuck. My wish was to have Kieran be attracted to me, not for him to lose interest in me. Agh, he's gonna hate me. I headbutted the table twice, just for dramatic effect, which was followed by a rather concerned teacher sending me to first aid for 'special help'. I couldn't say no, or else she'd probably think I was insane, so I complied and groggily pondered off to the school reception area. On the way, I quickly flipped out my phone, and typed into a new group message containing Rebecca, Kat and Michael, ordering them to meet me straight after school. I shoved the phone back in my pocket and flopped downstairs.

Hey, thanks for reading if you're reading this. I'm not the best writer, I know, but I like the plot =3 I think it's really funny for what it's worth. Plus Michael's just a massive nerd like amiright.

Also, I keep trying to write 'Kieran' instead of Luke just coz that's the guy I'm basing Luke off and I keep forgetting it's Luke. How can I mistake Luke with a commoner *gasp*.
