Katsuki woke up. The first thing he saw was the blank ceiling and his large bed frame that went up and connected, with curtains on the side that looped and fell. He could only see his right side, his left was completely black.
His head was pounding in pain and his left eye felt sore. It took Katsuki a long minute to remember what had occurred. Tears brimmed his eyes at the thought. He reached for his ring but it was not on his finger. His stomach dropped and he sat up quickly. Fast enough the world spinner and turned slightly fuzzy. He was about to get out of bed until his eye caught something on the nightstand. On the nightstand was the ring. Clean and shining in the sunlight coming through the window. Katsuki let out a sigh of relief and put it on his finger. The familiarity comforted him.
Katsuki laid back down, trying to push down the feeling of nausea. My eye is truly gone. Katsuki thought as he looked up. Last night was replaying in his mind. Even now it felt like a fever dream. He knew he didn't come over here. Someone must've brought him. Katsuki assumed it was one of the servants who cleaned him and brought him to his bed. He felt bad for whoever it was. They must of had a heart attack at the sight of him passed out in a pool of blood and vomit.
He gently touched his left eye and felt a satin eye patch with bandages underneath it, wrapping around his head. Dried blood was around the patch only a little. Just by touching it, he could feel a prick of pain.
The door opened as Shoto walked into the room. His black wolf mask was still on his face, even after all that had happened to him. But he saw a black, purple shade around his eye and a cut on his bottom lip. Shoto must've got a good beating for not being here when Katsuki was hurt.
When Shoto met his eyes with Katsuki's, he almost dropped the silver platter in his hands that had breakfast on it. The smell of it made Katsuki's stomach grumble.
Shoto quickly set the platter on the nightstand and kneeled by the bed, looking at Katsuki.
"You're alive," he said with a slight panic in his voice. "I am alive," katsuki replied.
"What happened to you? Did someone attack you? Did you summon something? Did one of the servants hurt you," Shoto rapidly asked. The questions came so quickly it gave katsuki worse of a headache than he already had. He rubs his head and whines.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be speaking so fast," he says, "I was just really worried about you." The last part sounded hesitant but Katsuki was too tired and in so much pain that he couldn't care.
Katsuki hid his face in the pillow. It felt soft on top of his face. The coolness made his headache weaken just slightly. He could still feel the ring on his finger. One of the only things giving him comfort.
The bed moved slightly from the weight of someone else going onto the bed. Katsuki turned to the feeling. Shoto was sitting on the bed and was very close to him. Katsuki looked into his eyes. He could notice the bags under his eyes and the guilt in them. Katsuki could also see the cut and bruises closer. It was worse than he thought. He looked away.
"Can you at least tell me what happened," Shoto asked. He felt his hand be placed on top of Katsuki's foot, the sheets were the only thing keeping them from skin-to-skin touch.
Katsuki wasn't ready to tell Shoto. What happened yesterday...if anyone find out, they'd lock him up in this manor more than they already do. He doesn't want that. Being stuck like he's some bird in a cage. Katsuki got a terrible feeling that made his stomach drop. The thought of being in a cage and in the sky, nothing able to get you out and no one there. It sent chills down Katsuki's spine. Worse than when he saw the Suriel.
Katsuki knew he had to get out quickly. There wasn't much time before they find out what truly happened in that room and protect him more. Especially if Izuku finds out. He might come here or kill the Suriel. As much as the Suriel hurt him, he didn't want the Suriel to be killed. It had helped him. Unlike everyone else here who could have for 2 years or more. If anything, he needs to leave tonight. And he'll leave tonight, whatever it takes.
