Clarke POV
I look down on Polis. The beautiful lights of the torches everywhere. I'm drawing the city into the book I got from Lexa. I haven't draw at all since Mount Weather, except the little drawing of Lexa while she was sleeping that I still haven't finished. It just feels right drawing the city right now.
I'm sitting at the balcony of the throne room. Because of the hight of the tower I have a perfect sight on Polis. It's breathtaking.
"You shouldn't be here alone. Do you even know how easy it would be to kick you off that tower?"
I flinch and immediately relaxe because it's Lexa, who's talking to me. I take a deep breath before I reply. "I just wanted to draw Polis from up here and I'm pretty sure that you won't kick anyone of this tower, especially not me."
A small smirk forms on Lexa's face.
"What is it?" I ask.
"Well, as for the thing with the kicking off the tower, that's not entirely true."
It takes me a second until I fully process what she just said. "Are you telling me you really kick people of this tower?!" I can see that Lexa is surpressing a laughter. I shake my head. I definitely expected something like this but it really surprises me right now. "How many and when was the last one kicked down?"
"27 and about three weeks ago, you have already been in Polis by then."
My jaw drops. "27! Wow...I don't even know what to say. Good work I guess." I say. Lexa can't hold her laugh back anymore and starts laughing. I immediately join her.
"Who was the last one by the way?" I ask once we calm down.
"The Azgeda ambassador. He called me weak." She answers.
"Yeah, he definitely deserved it." I reply.
Lexa sits down next to me. "Can I have a look?"
"Yes, of course, but it's not finished yet." I hand her the drawing and wait for her reaction. Her eyes start to glow as soon as she looks at it. Her reaction leaves me smiling.
"You like it?" I ask. Lexa looks to me with so much love in her eyes.
"You ask me if I like it? I love it, Clarke. It's so beautiful and you are so talented, wow." Her gaze heads back to the drawing. She really is admiring it.
I lean my head onto her shoulder. Until now our relationship has only existed behind closed doors that's why I love moments like this even more. Just watching the stars and the city with my favourite person. Lexa puts her arm around me while looking at my drawing.
"We should probably go and rest. Tomorrow is going to be a long day." Lexa suggests.
"Just a few more minutes." I answer. The moment is perfect with Lexa's arm around me, my head on her shoulder and the view. I don't want it to end already. I wish we could have moments like this all the time but right now it's impossible.
I lift my head off her shoulder and stand up. I reach her my hand to help her up. She takes it and we head back to our room. Even though we can't have moments like this all the time, we are still share a room.
I wake up and see an already fully clothed Lexa. The sun hasn't even risen yet but she is already ready to leave.
"I'm going to prepare some stuff. We won't be leaving in the next few hours, so you can take your time." She tells me.
I nod and Lexa leaves the room. First I get into my clothes. It's still pretty chilly so walking around in my nightgown would be dumb. I spot my drawing on the chest next to Lexa's side of the bed. I smile the moment I see the drawing. Lexa said that we won't be leaving the next few hours so I have still got time to finish it. I grab the drawing and a pencil and head to the throne room.
