Clarke POV

"How is that possible!" Lexa looks at him like she is about to rip off his head.

"They...I honestly don't know, heda. The guards in front of the cell are dead, but they must have had help from outside the cell." He responds.

"Go get me 15 of the best warriors and 15 of the fastest horses in Polis, make my horse ready too. I won't let him get away." Sion orders.

The guard is already on his way out, but Lexa stops him. "Do not carry out general Sion's orders" After she said that she turns to Sion "Let it be."

"Why Lexa? He tried to kill Clarke and me, he deserves the punishment." Sion replies.

"Yes, he does and he will get it, but not now. He may has won this fight, but he definitely hasn't won this war." Lexa answers. Sion nods but I can tell that she isn't happy.

"You are also not in the state to follow him." I say to her. Sion gives me a death glare but doesn't say anything. She knows it herself that with her arm she wouldn't be a big threat to Roan and his warriors.

"There is something else." He says very quiet. Everyone turns to him. "They took Titus with them." Lexa next to me freezes.

It takes her a second to gather herself before she answers. "Well, we can't change it now. Call the ambassadors together for an immediate meeting."

Ethan nods and heads to the elevator. Lexa isn't alright, even though she tries to show everyone that she is. Both Sion and I can see right through her stoic mask and she knows it. She's fighting all of her emotions right in front of us and it's breaking my heart to see her struggling like this. Our eyes meet. I can see the pain in them like I always can see everything in her eyes. Lexa takes a deep breath and then goes to the elevator herself. Both Sion and I follow her.

We soon enter the throne room. Every ambassador is already there when we appeare. The ambassadors stand up. Lexa goes to her throne, Sion close behind her while I go to my chair. Lexa signals us to sit down. The previous worriedness got replaced by anger.

"Ambassadors, today I declare war on the Ice Nation. King Roan escaped from his cell and with that he gave me a valid reason to exclude Azgeda from our coalition and declare war on them. However, the armies are already stationed at the blockade that's why I want you to send riders to every single village to get every person, who can fight."

She makes a break and looks at every ambassador to see if anyone of them has something to say.

When no one says anything Lexa continues. "From today on we have to watch our backs, not only the warriors at the blockade but also the people, who are in Polis. But there is at least one good thing I can announce today. From tomorrow on I will have a new flamekeeper. Now do what I ordered and look out for yourselves."

The ambassadors bow in front of Lexa and leave the room. Lexa turns to me and begins to speak. "You should head back to your room as well. It isn't safe for you to stay near me anymore."

She wants to go on but I grab her wrist. "I won't leave your side." I see Lexa's mouth is about to open again but I just continue speaking. "I don't care if it puts me in danger I just want to be with you." Lexa knows I won't accept a no from her so she lets it be. A small smirk appears on Sion's face.

"I haven't checked your wound today, Sion. We have to catch up on that." I think I have never seen a smile disappear that fast. Now Lexa and I are the ones who smirk. Sion sighs and leaves the throne room.

"I will tell Indra what happened today while you are with Sion. When you two are done come to Raven's room." Lexa says. I nod, give her a small kiss on the cheek and leave the room. Sion leans on the right wall side waiting for me.
