Ch.8 Puppets

As the Wonderlandians continued their journey, everyone started to yawn.

"Anybody else feeling tired?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah" they all said.

"We should get some rest" Alistair suggested.

"But where are we gonna rest?" Tammy asked.

"We could do my place again" Bunny said "But it's too far from where we are".

"Don't worry" Lizzie said "I can build us a fort with my cards".

Lizzie got out her deck of Wonderland cards and used her skills to build a large fort made out of the cards in less than a minute.

"Sweet!" Dina commented "But is it strong to protect us from invaders?"

"Trust me" Lizzie said as she banged her hand against the wall "It's strong".

So that night, with the clouds covering the stars, the Wonderlandians made a fire and sat around it. Maddie stuck a marshmallow on a stick and held it over the fire.

"I'm gonna take a walk" Alistair said as he got up.

"What?" Cari said "It's dangerous out there".

"I'm not gonna go far" he said "And I've got my sword".

"Alistair" Cari said "I don't think you should leave the group, I mean, what if you run into a doll?"

"I'm just gonna go by the river" he said.

"Be careful" Maddie warned and Alistair left the camp site. Alistair made it to the river that was near the camp site, the river wasn't that gross like the other ones they saw, he then picked up a smooth flat rock and skipped it across the river and watched it bounce.

At the Infernal Train station, Alistair's clone stood in a dark room and looked at a mirror which showed the Wonderlandians at their camp.

"I think we should have some fun here" he grinned as he picked up 2 marionette puppets that were Daring and Dexter Charming, they looked like the Raven doll with their crack and stitched body and bodging red eyes, but the clone had turned them to marionette puppets. The clone then held up the puppets and placed down Dexter onto a table, he looked on the mirror which showed that the puppet had transferred itself to the camp site, but now in it's full size.

The Wonderlandians stopped what they were doing and looked at what had fallen from the sky, Maddie didn't notice that her marshmallow had caught on fire. They all went closer to the object and saw that it was Dexter, laying motionless.

"Dexter?" Kitty said.

Alistair's clone then lifted up the Dexter puppet which made the full size Dexter puppet copy it's actions. The Wonderlandians gasped when they looked at Dexter who looked like the Raven doll. The clone then made the Dexter puppet lift it's sword up above the group.

"Look out!" Kitty yelled as they moved out of the way as the Dexter puppet hit the ground with it's sword, but it lifted it back up and headed towards them. At that point, Alistair's clone dropped down the Daring puppet behind them.

"Daring?!" Lizzie gasped as Daring held up his sword, but Lizzie quickly got out her Hobby Horse and blocked herself from his sword, the Daring puppet used it's strength against her, but she managed to throw him back. But the puppets continued to used their swords against the Wonderlanders. The Dexter doll tried to stab Kitty, but she used her claws to scratch his face, he now had a large claw mark across his face, but he still went after her.

"Into the fort!" Lizzie ordered as they all ran inside the card fort and slammed the door and locked it, but the puppets began to bang against the walls, the Wonderlandiands felt the walls shake. But then the Daring puppet was able to make a hole in the wall.

"Looks like this wall isn't really strong" Tony said as the Daring puppet continued to make the hole bigger, and then the Dexter puppet had started to make a hole. Pretty soon the fort was coming apart.

Alistair, who was still at the river suddenly heard some screams, he looked back at the camp to see some people destroying the fort.

"Oh no" he gasped as he ran to the camp site. When he got to the camp, he saw Daring and Dexter were destroying the fort with everyone inside. But as he looked closer, he saw the strings that were controlling the brothers.

"They're, puppets" he gasped. He then pulled out his sword and went to Dexter and cut the strings, which caused the puppet to collapse, which also caused the puppet the clone was controlling to also collapse. He then went to Daring and cut his strings, and the Daring puppet collapse. The door to the fort opened and everyone came out.

"You guys ok?" Alistair asked.

"We're fine" Lizzie said "What happened?"

"Apparently Daring and Dexter were puppets, and I just cut the strings and they stopped".

"Puppets?" Maddie said "If they're puppets, then who was controlling them?"

"I'm not sure" Alistair said

Alistair's clone watched the Wonderlandians through the mirror, he looked at the Daring and Dexter puppets that had been cut off from their strings.

"I'm not done yet" he said.

Wow, I can't believe that Daring tried to kill Lizzie
