Ava

I smoothed down the yellow fabric on my thighs, the color seeming too bright for someone like me. I always hated yellow. It looks too happy, too cheerful for someone whose past is so dark. I pull the brown jacket tighter around me, willing the nerves to dissipate. My orange sash made my dress hug me in the right places, the reason I had put it there, but now I felt too exposed.

The door to the aptitude test room hissed open, and I glanced one last time at my brothers. Darion smiled at me, the orange and yellow looking normal on him.

I walked into the small room, noting the door on the opposite wall. The door automatically closes behind me, and the man standing near the table looks up. I take a deep breath before walking over to him and sitting on the chair.

**A/N The author is lazy and doesn't want to write the whole test scene, she was given her results, and they were Dauntless**

Dauntless? How could I be Dauntless? I was born in Amity, both of my parents were born in Amity, all four of my grandparents were born in Amity, and so on. We are a pure-bred Amity line from the beginning. How could I be Dauntless?

Not that I was mad, I just never expected to be Dauntless. I was hoping for Erudite or Abnegation, anything but Amity. But I never thought about Dauntless.

Now I had to decide what to pick for the choosing ceremony. I had it narrowed down to Erudite and Abnegation. The test was supposed to determine for me, but now that I'm Dauntless?

I guess I'll have to go with my gut. When I get to the choosing ceremony tomorrow, I'll just guess.
