CHAPTER 14: no! this isn't the end

Amelia P.O.V

I stood frozen watching the door slowly close behind her. I wasn't expecting that. I mean, I really wasn't expecting her to say what she did. I don't know how long I stood staring at the door. this is why I didn't want to tell her because I didn't want things to change between us and now they have and I can feel my heart drop to the pit of my stomach.

No

No, this isn't how it is going to end. She is going to talk to me if it's the last thing I do. She said her peace and now I need to say mine.

I was sitting at my desk working on a new drawing and trying with all my might to think about what could possibly make Jinx say what she did. I don't believe her for a second that kiss meant something to not just me but her too, and I want to know why she is choosing now to push me away. All this thinking was driving me up the wall. I threw my head back looking at the ceiling, but then I remembered that me and Jinx had a camera hidden away. Jinx is always very paranoid, so we got one to keep an eye on the place when we weren't there. (I know they probably don't really have things like that, but just go with it.) I ran over to the computer and logged into the camera. I watched as I went to sleep and Jinx sat at her desk and what looks like her arguing with herself. No, not herself, the voices.

If there was a physical body of those stupid voices that tell's her she is a Jinx and she is going to get me hurt, I would shoot them. I hate it when Jinx doubts herself, but I also hate it when she thinks she is capable of hurting me. I know her better than anyone, and I know she will never EVER hurt me. 

I closed down the computer and headed to see my dad. If anyone can help me understand what is going on, it's him. Plus, I really need to talk to someone. I just..... Need my dad. 

Silco P.O.V

I was sitting at my desk doing more endless work, not long after Jinx left. Amelia arrived. She walked over to me and sat down with me.

"What's the matter, river, you look upset."

"You can't be angry if I tell you something, dad; I just need some advice."

I gave her a nod. I have a feeling I know what she is going to talk to me about. The down side of having a teenage daughter. I have to have these talks, but I wouldn't give it up for the world I suppose.

"Go on, tell me what's bothering you."

"Me and Jinx kissed and it was amazing, or well, I thought it was amazing, but just before you came to get her, she told me that it didn't mean anything to her. I know she's lying, but I can't figure out why. "

Ah, I see. First off, River, I would never be mad at your happiness, and Jinx's happiness means everything to me, so if you both want to be together, then that's fine. Don't forget, when Jinx first got here, she lost everything, so she is scared of letting herself care because she is afraid of losing you too. "

She got lost in thought a bit, but I know what I said is getting through to her, and if I know my daughter, she isn't going to let this go so easily. But I know that no matter the outcome, this will not come between the two girls. They have been irreprobable since day one, and that won't change.

"Thanks dad, you give the best advice."

I'm always willing to listen when you need to talk; after all, I'm your father. Before I forget, I need you to go down to the last drop and help Thieram sort out inventory. Is that okay."

"That's fine, dad."

She got up and started walking to the door, but before she could, I said the same thing I said to Jinx.

River, you are my daughter and I love you very much. If being with Jinx will make you happy, then don't let anyone or anything stand in your way. Let yourself be happy. "

Before replying, she gave me a smile.

"My whole life makes me happy, dad, you Jinx sevika everyone. Now it's time for Jinx to be happy."

She walked out the door, and I returned to my paperwork, thinking to myself that no matter what happens, they will end up together, and how did I get so lucky to have two very amazing daughters?

Amelia P.O.V

I had a good think about what my dad said and he was right. I love Jinx and I'm not going to let some silly little doubts get in the way of that. She is amazing and my best friend, the one that I truly want to spend the rest of my life with, and I'm determined to not let this get in the way of that. 

Several hours later

Oh how I hate doing inventory, but I had a good catch up with Thieram, he is nice and I have no idea where the name Chuck came from, but I find it quite funny. He was telling me about what has been happening in the last drop the past couple of days. Nothing exciting the usual there was a fight some tables where broken, People played some poker got drink noting new but but I still like to listen. 

I said bye to Thieram and went back to my dad to tell him I had finished. Just as I made it to his office, Sevika walked out looking pissed as high hell.

"Sevika, hey, what's up?"

Ask Crazy pants We went on a mission and she shot at us for no fucking reason at all"

Oh, that's not good.

"I will talk to her and see what happened. You didn't get hurt, did you?"

"No kid, I'm fine. Don't worry about it."

She scuffed my hair and walked away.

Well, that's not good.
