The car ride to the mall was about 20 minutes because of how far my dad's place was. Scout was playing music the whole time, not good music might I add.
Scout listened to new music while I preferred older music. Music today where it's all about how you don't get enough love, drugs, or stuff like that.
Once we arrived at the mall we saw just how busy it was. Even though it was a Monday morning it was still crazy busy and the number of cars in the parking lot proved that.
"Everyone ready?" Eric asked once everyone was out of the car.
The group of us walked into the mall and Scout led the way. Milo walked beside me while the boys were behind us. They talked to themselves while Scout and I were talking, more Scout.
"Where do you want to go first?" she asked, looking around.
"I don't care, I thought I had enough clothes so I'll just follow you," I replied. "Well we're not leaving this mall empty-handed," she said, walking into the first shop she saw.
I followed Scout around for a while and the boys just stayed behind, making sure no one was going to do anything.
"Anna, you have to pick something out," Scout sighed, looking at me.
"We're only on our first store!" I reasoned, laughing.
"True.. still if you don't pick something out then I will." she smiled, picking up another shirt.
I shook my head and looked at Milo who was playing with the bracelet on his wrist. I pulled out a piece of non-sour candy and handed it to him. He instantly smiled and took it from me, opening it.
I felt my phone buzzing in my back pocket and realized that it was probably my dad calling. He was really the only one who ever called me other than Axel, but he was in school.
"Hello?" I asked, putting the phone to my ear.
"Annalise," he paused "Where are you?"
"I'm at the mall right now," I answered honestly, picking up a pair of cute jeans I found.
"Who's with you?" he questioned.
"Scout, Dean, Mi, and Eric. Why?"
"Okay good. I just wanted to make sure that someone was there with you. I should be back home around noon since our meeting went by quicker than usual."
"Oh okay.. how did the meeting go?"
"Surprisingly good. We'll talk about it more when I get home, also about something else."
"Is it bad?" I asked, by the tone of his voice I didn't think it was good news.
"It's not good but it's not terrible, you'll just have to hear when I get home. I'll let you go now though. Text me when you get home."
"Okay, bye."
"Bye Annalise."
I handed Milo my phone since he was bored and he quickly took it.
"I'm tired," Milo whined as we walked out of the 5th store for today.
I adjusted the few bags I had in my arms and scooped up Milo while we were walking. He gave me back my phone and laid his head down on my shoulder.
"I feel like you've gotten nothing compared to me." Scout pointed out the amount of bags she had in her arms.
"Because I already have plenty of clothes, I don't even need these," I said, laughing.
"Yeah but you need some new clothes in your life. Literally, your wardrobe is sweatpants and hoodies."
"And what's wrong with that? It's comfortable."
