(AKA, Will finally says no to Mike via... pizza?)

Should I stay or should I go now..
He can hear skates sliding against the rink floors, the squeals of girls grasping onto their best friends for safety. Will is getting awfully sick of that song.
It's sparking a mass of unwelcome deja vu. He's caught between two lenses, not able to be seen by the two people across from him. This reminds him of the upside down. It stings like the sour breaths caught in his throat as he hid aimlessly for a week in an alternate universe. It reeks of loneliness.
Mike whispers something in El's ear to which she responds with a series of tiny giggles. Will can't look at them, he has to focus on something else or those tears caught under his eyelids will start to fight for a break through.
And so he focuses on his watch. Of course it isn't helping though; it reminds him of Mike. Mike's who's right in front of him, pecking the corner of El's mouth every now and then. It's disgusting, he thinks.
Will is dying for his pizza to come. At least then he'll be able to pull his attention to something else, something that has nothing to do with the couple in front of him. Hell, he doesn't even care that it's day old pizza that's been sitting in the display case of the roller rink dining stop for hours.
He wants to go home. To sit on his bed and sob into that one pillow that smells of snot and tears from all of the crying he's been doing lately. He wants to be alone.
He practically is alone right now; it doesn't seem like anyone is paying attention to him. The waiter comes with two platters of pizzas stuck to her hands, she's doing a rather good job at balancing them for somebody that's, presumably, sixteen.
"One large pepperoni pizza and one small cheese." She hums through her braces that are drilled to her teeth. A little bit of spit flies out through the brackets and lands somewhere on the table, but Will doesn't care. He knew the risk of germs when coming here but he at least thought he'd have something else to do than just be left to sit by himself in pity.
Mike says a nonchalant 'thank you', not pausing his intent gaze into El's eyes whilst pushing back a strand of brown hair behind her ear.
Will almost gags."Thank you!" He decides to confirm because that waitress, Stacy is what her name tag says, is staring at him like she feels bad. Her eyes are downcast and it's a look of such pity that makes Will almost choke on his glass of Pepsi. So she roller blades away, leaving Will on his own.
Mike is being extra gross today. It's like he's trying to prove something. Will only thinks this because he's started to feed El a piece of their large pepperoni pizza, because they shared, of course they shared.
Will quietly pulls an extra cheesy slice from his pie. His eyes focused on the crisped crust, a new place to look at. He finally allows himself to breath, to try and collect his emotions into a little plastic bag that he can tie into a knot and send down the garbage shoot.
That is until Mike finally speaks up."Hey Will, mind if I have a piece of your pizza? You can have one of ours if you want, but I don't think you like pepperoni that much." Mike enunciates 'ours' , which Will is sure is just to spite him. He can't bring himself to answer right now because there is an urge to deny the request. An urge to finally tell Mike 'no.' To show that he's not some puppet on a string that's laid out for Mike to play with whenever he feels like doing such.
"Will? Hey?" Mike was expecting him to say yes. El cups her hand around his ear and whispers something into his ear again that causes him to cough out a laugh.
They're talking about him.And it's like something inside of him bursts into combusted flames. Heat radiating off of his heart, burning that little bit of empathy he had left in him. This isn't fair.
He smirks and looks up from his pizza for the first time. A little chuckle escapes his lips that catches the attention of his sister and her boyfriend.
"No." He says with a released sigh, his teeth clench down on the bit of the pizza, dragging it out while maintaining eye contact. Wills smiling, he's grinning because.. holy shit- he's never felt so powerful.
"What? Will, we used to split pizzas all of the time!"
"Yeah we used to. But look at us, we're not like that anymore."
