Chapter Seven: Games

(I'm back on my grind! I'm trying to update as much as I can because I'm gonna be busy!)

Things had gotten weirder than ever. I dreaded coming home and hearing that soft, melodic voice drifting through the house. It always spelled trouble for me.

"Hannie!" Sarah rushed to me and enveloped me in her warm embrace as I walked through through door. It was the most excited she had been to see me in awhile. I had begun playing nicely with Leeknow. But not because I wanted to.

"Hello trouble. How are you? Is Leeknow here today?" Just his name in my mouth was enough to turn my stomach and cause a nauseating headache to spread through my skull.

"Of course! But you can't steal him today. We're going on a date." She released me and winked. She began showing off the 'cute' outfit that he had bought her that day. Combined with her over the top make up, the short revealing red dress made her look like a cheap hooker and I wasn't keen on the idea of her going anywhere dressed like that.

"O-Oh. Is he taking you somewhere nice?" I enquired as I frowned down at her. "Maybe somewhere dark, where no one can see you?" I suggested as I tugged at the hem of her dress, trying to cover more of her skin. She giggled and shoved me lightly.

"God, OK Grandpa! Chill out will you?!"

"If I'm a Grandpa that makes you almost a grandma, and at least I still have my dashing good looks." I framed my face with my hands, and cupped them into a heart shape. She pretended to gag, and I acted like a wounded steer.

"You're so gross!" She said as she went to grab her bag.

"What's going on in here?" His silky voice drifted into my ears, and my face immediately dropped from the smile that had been there seconds before. Just his presence was enough to ruin my mood for the week. It was safe to say I was having very few good weeks recently.

"He's just being protective. You ready to go babe?" She asked as she pecked his cheek. Something inside me wanted to tear them apart, and stop them ever touching again. He smirked and winked at me as he took her tiny hand in his and began leading her out of the door.

"Back by nine please. You have school in the morning."

"Yes mom!" She called as she waved over her shoulder at me dismissively.

"Aish. The disrespect I receive under my own roof!" I called, causing her to burst into fit's of giggles as she left. I smiled fondly and settled down on the sofa to watch my new favourite show. Tonight would be an agonisingly long wait. Especially as I had no idea where they were going or what they were doing.

A memory from the week before flashed through my head and I hoped Leeknow would stick to his word.

"Look Hanji. I think we both know there is something between us. It's undeniable." His hand barely brushed my cheek and I turned my head in disgust at his forward comment.

"If there's something between us, I must be a freaking water deer screaming into the abyss. You disgust me on every level Leeknow. Make no mistake about that."

"Oh Hanji, you're so cute when you're pissed. Don't forget, we have a deal. You have to put the effort in to get to know me too." He winked and I felt myself blushing. I couldn't help my body betraying me. He did make me feel something. I just couldn't admit it. Not in the situation I was in.

"You have to promise not to touch her Leeknow. Cool things off and then break up with her. I need to hear you promise before I agree to anything." I explained firmly.

"Don't get your panties in a twist. I know what my side of the deal is. Don't worry, your precious princess will be safe. The harder you try, the safer she will be." He explained.

I shook my head and pushed the memory out of it. He was the most awful human I had ever met. He was dating my sister to get to me. I had tried to warn Sarah and it had caused a monumental argument unlike any other we had ever had. She had told me I had sunk to a new low to accuse him of something so disgusting, and I couldn't help feeling that I would be stuck in this limbo forever.

I jerked awake as the door slammed violently and quickly sat up, blinking wildly to gain my bearings. I checked my watch.

Midnight.

"Why are you back so late?!" I demanded as I jumped to my feet and went to meet them. Then I saw why. Sarah was draped around Leeknow, barely conscious. Her head hung limply and her feet were barely able to step one in front of the other.

"I left for two seconds... I have no idea what happened!" Leeknow's wide eyed stare made him look like a deer in headlights as he saw anger, worry, and confusion all overcome me simultaneously.

"YOU FUCKING PROMISED!" I screamed as I rushed to retrieve my semi conscious sister from him. Lights flicked on, and I could hear the sound of footsteps rushing down the stairs. I supported Sarah as best I could and tried to get her to wake up, by gently tapping her cheek. She groaned flopped forwards into my body.

"Wh-What is going on?!" My Mother sounded just as concerned as me, and she quickly joined me, and began checking her semi conscious daughter over.

"I-I-" Leeknow couldn't get a sentence out and once I was sure Mom had Sarah I turned on him. I grabbed his shirt and pinned him against the wall angrily.

"You better start fucking explaining before I kill you!" I spat the words angrily in his face as I searched it for answers.

"I went to the bathroom! She said someone bought her a drink and then she started acting weird. I brought her home, but she couldn't move so it took me ages to get her here. I'm so sorry!" It was the most genuine I had ever seen Leeknow.

"I need to get her to hospital. Han, stay here. Taemin!" She called loudly to my father. I barely heard her words. All I could think about was how badly I wanted to rearrange his dumb face.

"It wasn't Min!" Sarah whined quietly. "H-He saved me." My father appeared and all at once, activity erupted around me. Everything was happening in slow motion, and a weird calm feeling had settled over me. Like I actually believed he'd looked after her.

"I knew I shouldn't have let her walk out of that door with you. I was dumb to think you could ever be trusted you cretin."

"I swear Han, I didn't mean for this to happen!" Tears were filling his eyes, and I found myself wanting to comfort him. It was an alien feeling. Like I needed to protect him from this situation.

"We'll ring you from the hospital. Keep your phone on." Mom instructed as Dad lifted Sarah and began carefully exiting the house. The door slammed again and I released Leeknow from my grasp.

"We had a deal." I whispered quietly as my own tears began filling my eyes. This was the exact kind of situation I had been trying to avoid all these years. Sarah was cursed with incredibly good looks, and it meant people were willing to do anything to get to her. No matter if she was safe or not.

"I'm so sorry..." He whispered.

"Y-You promised." The aching in my chest, and wildly erratic beating of my pounding heart let me know what was coming. My throat felt tight and I was left gasping for air.

I was about to show my most vulnerable side to my worst enemy.

What an awful day to be alive.
