"How about Anastasia?"
Dinah and Lauren where sat down in the living room trying to figure out a name for Lauren's baby.
"You want to name my child Anastasia? Cinderella's evil step sister?" Lauren questions her friend
"Well no, but-
"Exactly" she says giving Dinah a glare.
"Layla?"
"No"
"Valentina?"
"That was the name of the girl who bullied me in 5th grade, so no."
"Gabriella"
"Nah"
"Nelly?"
"Nelly? That's so old fashioned Dinah!" Lauren tells her best friend
"Well I don't know!" Dinah sighs in frustration.
"Let me see the book and see if I can find better names" Lauren says taking the book away from Dinah.
"Did you find anything ?" Dinah asks scooting closer to where Lauren is sitting.
"Umm, I think so" she says turning the page back and forth "Tell me if you like any of these names ok?
"Ok, hit me the first one Lo"
"Leia?"
"Umm, keep going"
"Olivia?
"Pretty but, no"
"Jasmine"
"Nahh"
"Ella?
"Still no"
Lauren sighs
"How about Aliviana?"
"That kinda sounds like a medication brand or something."
"I give up. All these names are pretty but they are just not what I want to name her" lauren sighs closing the book in her hands before putting it aside.
"When is your due date again?" Dinah suddenly asks.
"March 4"
"Oh"
Silence filled the room.
"I wish he was here" Lauren says with sadness in her voice
"What?"
"Deven. I wish he was here"
"Oh, I-me too Lauren. I'm sure he would of loved meeting the baby" Dinah says rubbing Lauren's stomach.
"He would've been so happy to know that it was gonna be a girl. He always wanted it to be a girl."
"I'm sorry Lauren" Dinah says pulling her for a hug
"It's okay DJ," Lauren says reciprocating Dinah's embrace.
It really wasn't though.
"Mama, mama!"
"What is it mani? Dinah says pulling away from the embrace.
"Kitty!" Normani says holding her stuffed white and black kitten she had gotten for Christmas.
"I see that baby girl" Dinah chuckles.
"Fo' baby" Normani says pointing to to Lauren's stomach.
"You want to give your kitty to the baby?" Dinah wonders in disbelief.
