It's been 2 days since Luke and I had confessed to each other and we were closer than ever. I didn't get "stuck" next to him anymore, I chose to sit next to him. We had reached California, and were currently at the beach.

Everyone else had gone swimming while me and Luke searched for shells. Well, not really searching, more like sitting and kinda digging through the sand.

"How long have you, um, liked me?" I asked awkwardly. I still found it weird how he had a thing for me when all this time I was convinced he hated me. But, then again, I was convinced that I hated him too.

"For a month or two.. I'm not sure. How did you know you liked me back?"

"That night at the pool, I just felt different about you, if that makes sense," I told him. He took my sandy hand in his and rubbed circles on the back.

"You know that day when we had breakfast together and I called you 'Little Miss. Perfect', and you said 'I am perfect, aren't I?'" He asked and I nodded.

"You are. Perfect, I mean. A few months ago, I couldn't stop thinking about you; your hair, your beautiful green eyes, your angelic laugh.. that's when I knew I liked you," he confessed and my heart gushed. I cuddled up to him as he continued. "From then on, my feelings for you only grew stronger. But I always thought you hated me, so I continued to act like I hated you too. I'm sorry for being such an ässhole, I shouldn't have-"

"Luke, it's okay, I promise. All the insults and such didn't have an effect on me, honestly. But there is one thing..." I trailed off and he looked me in the eyes nervously. "Um..when we went to Taco Bell, and you were flirting with that cashier? Yeah, that kind of hurt.."

"I'm sor-"

"Luke, please stop apologizing. Babe, it's fine," I assured and I flushed. I swear, it just slipped.

"Babe?" He questioned with an amused smile on his face.

"Y-yeah, it, uh, slipped. S-sorry," I sputtered nervously.

"No, no. I like it.." Then I felt his hot breath near my ear. "Say it again."

I breathed heavily as my heart raced. "Babe.."

"It's so hot when you call me that," he purred. His hand traveled up my thigh and it set fire to my veins. His lips attached to mine and I pulled pulled at the fabric of his band shirt, bringing him closer and feeding the flames that were racing through my body.

I could feel his cold, metal lip ring and it only added to the burning sensation. He gently pushed me down on the sand and hovered over me, his lips disconnecting from mine.

"Your eyes are a lighter shade of emerald than usual," he panted. "I've noticed when you're happy, they get lighter."

I nodded, Ashton had told me that before. "I am happy."

He smiled, "then I'm doing something right, correct?"

I nodded again and blushed. "Yeah, you make me happy."

"Good. You don't deserve to feel anything less."

"Me and Luke are rooming together," I spoke up as we drove back to the hotel. I was sitting in the back next to him, hand in hand.

"Of course you are," Michael laughed. "Cal, you owe me 20 dollars."

Calum groaned from beside Michael.

"Wait, you guys bet on us?" I asked, not sure if I should laugh or be angry.

"Mhm," Michael answered, "I kept telling Calum and Carri, which reminds me, you owe me too. Anyway, like I was saying, I kept telling them that you and Luke were totally crazy for each other."

Luke and I flushed from the backseat.

"Shïtheads," Luke mumbled and we all laughed.
