Taehyung sat in the dimly lit living room, a glass of grape wine in his hand, as the television played some random late-night news channel. He wasn't really paying attention, though. His mind was occupied with work, as it always was. The day had been long, and he was finally allowing himself a moment to unwind.

"Mr. Kim, here's your grape wine," Yuna, his personal maid, said as she carefully handed him the glass. He took it without a glance and nodded.

"Right... Thanks, Yuna. You may go now," he replied in a cold, detached tone.

Yuna gave a small bow. "Enjoy your drink, Mr. Kim. Your nightwear is on your bed." With that, she excused herself, leaving Taehyung alone with his thoughts. He took a sip, allowing the bitter taste to settle on his tongue, before sighing heavily and leaning back into the couch.

Meanwhile, Jungkook had just finished his tour of the mansion with Hoseok. The older man had been kind enough to show him around since he was still unfamiliar with the place. The mansion was grand—too grand for him to get used to in just one night.

"Thanks for the tour, Hobi-hyung!" Jungkook said with a bright smile.

Hoseok chuckled, ruffling Jungkook's hair affectionately. "No problem, Kook. Well, I'll head to bed now. Good night."

Jungkook nodded and watched as Hoseok walked off, leaving him alone in the hallway. He glanced around, wondering if he should go straight to bed, but a slight rumbling in his stomach made him reconsider. Deciding that he needed a snack, he quietly made his way downstairs. As he reached the living room, he spotted Taehyung sitting alone, watching TV.

"Hi, Hyung!" Jungkook greeted cheerfully, stepping closer.

Taehyung barely spared him a glance. "What are you doing here, Jungkook? Go to sleep," he said, his tone indifferent.

Jungkook pouted. "I was feeling hungry... and I don't have clothes to change into."

Taehyung sighed before standing up. "Yuna's probably asleep, so... Come on, I'll cook something for you."

Jungkook blinked in surprise. "Really? You're going to cook for me?"

Taehyung nodded, already making his way to the kitchen. "Yes, now tell me what you want."

Jungkook followed him excitedly. "Uhm... maybe ramen?"

Taehyung raised a brow. "Ramen? You eat that?"

Jungkook nodded, confused. "Yeah...?"

He hummed before walking over to the stove. "Alright. Original or spicy?"

"Original, please."

Taehyung nodded and got to work. Jungkook watched in fascination as the older man moved smoothly around the kitchen, preparing the meal with ease. A few minutes later, Taehyung placed a steaming bowl of ramen in front of Jungkook along with a glass of water.

Jungkook grinned. "Do you have banana milk instead?"

Taehyung shot him a pointed look before sighing and retrieving a bottle from the fridge. "Drink your water too."

Jungkook giggled as he grabbed the bottle. "Thank you!"

"Yeah, yeah. Make sure you go to sleep after this," Taehyung muttered, sitting across from him.

Jungkook hesitated before speaking again. "Uh... Hyung, can I ask for a favor?"

Taehyung looked at him, nodding for him to continue.

"Can I go home tomorrow? My eomma needs me," Jungkook said, his tone turning serious.

Taehyung's expression darkened. "No. You're not leaving."

"Please, Hyung! My eomma is sick. She's probably worried about me. Just let me go home—I'll do anything, please!" Jungkook's voice wavered as tears filled his eyes.

Taehyung tensed at the sight of him crying. He hated seeing Jungkook in distress. Taking a deep breath, he asked, "What's your eomma's condition?"

Jungkook sniffled. "B-Brain tumor..."

Taehyung's jaw clenched. "Does she need surgery?"

Jungkook nodded, looking down. Taehyung hesitated before stepping closer, then, without thinking, pulled Jungkook into a hug.

"It's okay, baby. Your eomma will be fine, alright?" he murmured softly, stroking Jungkook's back.

Jungkook looked up at him with teary eyes. "Promise? She won't die?"

Taehyung nodded. "I promise."

Jungkook wiped his tears and gave him a small nod before finishing his food. Taehyung watched him quietly before walking away.

Later that night, Jungkook found himself trembling under the covers as a thunderstorm raged outside. The loud crashes of thunder brought back childhood fears he had yet to outgrow. He curled up, sobbing quietly, unable to push down the panic rising in his chest.

Taehyung, who was still awake working in his room, decided to grab a glass of water. As he passed Jungkook's room, he heard muffled sobs. Frowning, he pushed the door open slightly and peeked inside. Jungkook was curled up in bed, shaking.

Taehyung sighed and stepped inside. Jungkook looked up, and the moment he saw Taehyung, he immediately ran into his arms, wrapping himself around him tightly.

"Why are you crying, baby? What happened?" Taehyung asked, rubbing his back gently.

Jungkook didn't answer, just sobbed into his chest. Taehyung sighed, realizing Jungkook was scared. After a while, Jungkook finally calmed down, but when Taehyung tried to leave, Jungkook clung to his sleeve.

"Don't go, please... I'm scared," he whispered.

Taehyung crouched beside the bed. "Why is my baby scared?"

"I don't like thunder... Please stay with me. Just for tonight?"

Taehyung hesitated, then sighed. "Aish... Big baby."

Jungkook pouted. "Please? Just cuddle with me for a bit."

Taehyung groaned but eventually laid down beside Jungkook, pulling him into his arms. "Fine. Just this once."

Jungkook smiled as he buried his face into Taehyung's chest, feeling safe for the first time that night. Maybe the thunder wasn't so scary anymore.
