Killer paced the room nervously, fidgeting with his hands as he waited. It didn't take long before Cross opened the door, staring at him with concerned eyes as he walked in. "So.. Kills..? What did you want to talk about?"

He took in a deep breath. "So basically I went outside and I know I wasn't supposed to but also on the bright side I got you this flower--" Killer pulled out a poppy that was a little bit dull and dirty. And kinda dead. He gave it to him, Cross taking it, spinning it in his hands carefully. "Thank you."

"That's not all, though. ..Uhm. I kind of, fell asleep somehow while I was out there. And Nightmare paid me a visit." At that Cross froze his spinning, staring up at Killer with wide eyes. "He..- He what? Oh fuck. What'd he- What'd he say?"

"Basically he knows that I'm here at Dream's place and blah blah blah." Cross cursed at this, staring angrily at the floor instead like it had personally wronged him, muttering something about how he thought they had more time.

"..Yeah we should probably leave. But is there another place we can find? Pretty sure majority of the multiverse hates us for what we did while we were with him." Cross nodded, staring intensely. If it were anyone else, then it might've creeped them out, but Killer knew Cross was thinking hard on this, focusing in hopes of finding a solution.

That was what made us, us, and a pair.

Cross' knowledge and him being an empathetic, and Killer with his strength and persuasion. We were a duo through and through, and were good at it. We relied on each other. And right now? He was relying on Cross.

He was smart, and Killer wouldn't really be able to come up with much, so instead he thought of what they'd need to bring with them and what they'd need to leave if they were going to go, as some things were unnecessary or too much for the two people to carry for hours traveling.

But if they stayed.. Then they'd have to prepare for whatever Nightmare was planning, but that bastard always had a trick up his sleeve, usually going for the route that surprised us the most. It was actually that though, something we'd never think of, that only he could due to his age as an immortal, and leading to his smarts.

So much experience he had, yet failed as a proper leader.

Flawed, he was. But he couldn't get mad at us for having ours. That was hypocritical and dumb.

But if it was something they'd never think of, then the least they could do was try to protect the place as well as themselves the best they can, even if it's never enough, because it at least does something.

So that's what Killer does, recounting the supplies they have, things around the castle that might be helpful as Cross brainstorms.

Killer knows that if Cross really needed help deciding, he'd say so, so instead of being dead weight, he's doing what he does best, making sure that they're doing okay, keeping note on stocks, and maybe adding a few things to ideas Cross has, so he has Killer's own input as well.

But he still felt useless, but there wasn't anything for him to do. If he sat around trying to brainstorm as well, that's just a waste of time. So he got his hands moving and thoughts distracted. It helped him pass the day, at least.

And as it seemed so far?

Maybe they were going to stay. Definitely fucked over, but hey- At least there was some sort of protection. Leaving now would just leave Nightmare a trail to follow. Easy prey to catch.

So they just had to be prepared.

..What day did Dream say he was coming back again? He hardly remembered, and it'd just be a hindrance if he asked Cross, soo.... Guess he'll find out when he finds out.

For now we worry about the little things, and not the fact we're probably going to be dead or severely injured by the end of this.
