As time passed, it ended up proving that running away then was a stupid idea. Though stubbornness and spite was what fueled Killer's moments, ending up quite far from the base itself.
With a heavy pant, he stopped when it reached nightfall, finding himself in the forest. Ah, what was it with him and forests? At least the trees would be heavy enough to prevent too much rain from leaking out on me if it gets late.
So then Killer closed his eyes.
And then he awoke, less on guard than he was before, expecting to be back at the forest, before cursing under his breath at the familiar surroundings. He was in his room again! How did he get here?
Now he was quite annoyed.
He clenched his fists, ignoring the note that still lay on his nightstand, getting up from the bed ungraciously, nearly slamming the door open, much to about-to-knock Dust's surprise. "Kills-? You uh, good?" He spoke and Killer shushed him.
He headed over to a covered window, shoving away the curtains, only to be met with a blinding white. He winced, hissing at the brightness, before looking a little closer, and shifting angle too. How come it was just white outside? That wasn't normal was it?
Killer was about to poke the glass out of curiosity when Dust grabbed his wrist. "Okay uhh.. Are you good? You look like you've seen something new but there's nothing special out there? It's just grass and a lot of trees."
"What are you talking about? It's just white."
Dust blinked in confusion. "It is?" He looked closer, trying to see through whatever illusion Killer was seeing, but nothing. "No there isn't. Is your vision okay?" He waved his hand in front of him, as if to test that Killer could properly see that.
He sighed. "It's fine." He huffed out, before asking a question. "Why were you going to knock? What'd ya need?"
"Did you not see my note?"
"What note?"
"The one on the nightstand?"
"But that was from yesterday."
"No it wasn't?"
"What day is it?"
"It's XXXX."
Killer paled. How come it was the same day? "No it's not, it's– That was yesterday. This is just some prank, isn't it?"
Dust looked genuinely confused.
Killer hesitated, before shaking his arm out of Dust's grip, already heading for the front door, shoving it open and leaving into the blank white that threatened to burn his vision.
Dust tried to go after him, only to fade once he stepped into the white ground. What the..?
Right. Dream. This was probably just a dream wasn't it? And this was probably Killer's mind. The white. ..So it was a dream inside of a dream then, and this is.. real..?
Killer thought so.
He started walking in the opposite direction. If anyone was yelling for him, specifically Dust trying to find him, he heard no such thing, and eventually the castle faded from view, leaving a blank expanse of white.
Isn't there another place that's white like this? The antivoid, he thought. Well if this was his mind then damn that was suddenly dark. No wonder the glitch would've probably gone insane in there. And was it just him, or was his thoughts quite loud now?
He was used to being alone in his thoughts, it just.. It was like it was echoing. In his mind? His head? He didn't know. Maybe this white wasn't really his mind. Who knows.
