"Alright, we need a break from life-threatening danger." Lana said the next day.

It was 4 in the morning. Lucy was half-awake listening to Lana's rambling. This had been going on since they got home.

"I mean, we almost died last night! Let's do something fun!" Lana said with slight panic in her voice.

"Like what?" Lucy mumbled.

"Well,  I don't know. But we have to go somewhere where we can bring Sigmund."

"Why?"

"Cause he almost died last night!"

"Lana, he didn't. Go to sleep!"

And like that, Lana shut up, for about 2 seconds.

"Isn't there a comic shop near here?"

Lucy groaned. She knew that Lana wouldn't stop anytime soon.

"I mean, we could dress Sigmund up and pretend he's human!"

"That's never gonna work."

This went on for several hours. At least til Aunt Penny got up.

"Rise and shine g--! Oh, you're already awake! Why does it smell like seawater in here?" Lucy's aunt said as she opened the curtains.

"uh, excuse me? Can we go to the comic shop today?" Lana asked.

"Sure, why not? As long as you're home for dinner!"

The girls got dressed and grabbed a trench coat. They walked outside with a suspicious side glance from Aunt Penny. After dressing Sigmund up, they started walking to the comic shop.

"What do you do at a comic shop?" Sigmund asked.

"You get dragged around by your best friend while she geeks out about the retro comics." Lucy said as she glared at Lana.

They arrived at the comic shop. The sign said "Dave's comics" and was covered in Marvel characters. They ran inside.

"Whoah whoah whoah, I can't let you bring your dog in here." A teenager working there told the girls.

"He's not a dog, he's our brother!" Lucy said, thinking on her feet.

"Then why does he have a trench coat on?"

"It's raining out!" Lana said.

The boy leaned over the counter and looked out the window. It was perfectly clear outside. He looked at the girls.

"If my boss comes in, hide." He said, nudging his head toward the back.

"Thank you!" Lana said as they walked away.

They started looking at the books. There was one Lana had at home about a trans girl in oz. There were also some Spider Gwen comics Lucy wanted to buy.

"How bout this one?" Sigmund said, pointing to a giant manga about oceanography.

"Fine. At least I can say I learned something over summer break!" Lucy said, grabbing the book off the shelf.

They all sat down in a quiet corner of the store and they all started to read.
