They ended up buying the manga and some Spider Gwen comics. The sun started to set over the horizon. As soon as they got home, Lucy fell asleep. Lana gave the manga to Sigmund and locked the door of the clubhouse. Lana ate dinner with Aunt Penny, then fell asleep as well.

In the morning Aunt Penny woke Lana up. She was going to go out on the town with a couple of girlfriends of hers.

"Try not to get into trouble!" Lucy's aunt said while walking out the door.

"We'll try not to!" Lana said.

Lana looked around the house. She was in charge. What was she to do with this newfound power?

"I'm gonna go snoop in the attic!" Lana said.

She grabbed some comics and a flashlight and pulled down the ladder. She put the flashlight in her mouth and climbed it. The attic was a decent size and was full of old boxes. Most of them had "1987" in big numbers. She plopped herself down in the corner behind a couple of those boxes.

She pulled out a couple of old photos of Aunt Penny and Lucy's dad. It looked like they grew up around here. They were some very nice pictures, but boring pictures none the less. She decided to read some some of the comics.

She had read 2 or 3 comics when she heard a clatter downstairs.

"Are you okay?" Lana yelled.

There was no reply. She tried again.

"Are you okay?" she called.

No answer.  She stood up and started climbing down the ladder. It creaked under her weight. She heard mumbling in the kitchen. If it was Lucy, she would've called out to her, and if it was Lucy's aunt, she would've responded. She tiptoed through the hall and listened in the doorway of the kitchen.

"No, don't grab that! Grab the fridge!" An all too familiar voice whispered.

She peeked around the doorway and almost screamed. There were the 2 sea monsters she had seen at the cave. The brothers.

She squirmed down the hallway and hid in a closet.  She had to plan, and fast! They must have heard her earlier. She was yelling! They'd be coming for her next. She also had to get Lucy and wake her up without them noticing. There was a doorway leading to the kitchen between her and Lucy. There was no other way to get to their room. She would have to book it. Or book it out the window. She had a plan.

She ran down the hallway and flung open the door to their room, adrenaline pumped through her veins as she grabbed Lucy. She slammed open the window and crawled out, Lucy was half asleep.

"Lucy, we're on the run! Wake up! " Lana yelled, running to the safety of the clubhouse.

Just then she realized, she had locked the door. What the hell was she gonna do? She didn't have the key on her!

"Lucy, we might die, but don't worry, I have a plan!"

She didn't have a plan. She was just saying that to calm herself down. She looked behind her. Nothing was chasing her. Lana collapsed to the ground. Lucy was allready awake by this point. Lana tried to explain everything.

"So, why were they grabbing furniture? If they were robbing us, why furniture?" Lucy asked.

"Uh, let's ask Sigmund?" Lana said.

"Why is that your answer to everything?"

"No idea. But we have to go inside to get the key."

"You didn't grab the key?"

"Yeah."

"Spur of the moment?"

"Yep."

"Pure adrenaline?"

"Yep."

"You just completely forgot to get the key?"

Lana let out a shameful, "Yep."

"Then we need a plan that's not just running in. And I think I've got it."
