Chapter 13

"Sidharth aaj aap mere saath hi ghar chalo. Amma ne bulaya hai." Shehnaaz said while returning from school.

"Achcha theek hai chalta hun. Par hua kya? Maine kuch gadbad ki hai kya?" He asked in a dramatic way.

Shehnaaz ignored his dramatic reaction and told Arpita to join them.

Gurvinder was walking behind still wondering what happened to him yesterday that he felt guilty for not loving his sister. He then recalled what his father said to him in the morning.
"Dekh Gurvinder. Tu iss ghar ka waaris hai zimedaar ban. Aur teri uss behan se thoda durr hi reh. Usme teri maa ka asar zyaada hai, aakhir ladki jo hai maa pe gayi hai. Uske saath rahega toh uske jaisa ban jaayega, jo mujhe kabhi bhi manzoor nahi hoga. Ab tu dekh le ki tujhe mere jaisa strong ban na hai ya kamzor apni maa aur behan jaisa."

He for once felt that what his father said was not totally correct but he didn't questioned him. He had always wanted to be called as a strong boy and he believed what his father advised him to become strong. He will do whatever it takes. He will stay away from Shehnaaz.

"Chal abey. Tera hi ghar hai. Ab aarti utaare kya teri." Sidharth said snapping him out of trance.

"Nahi kuch nahi. Chalo aap." Saying this he walked inside.

Reet was working in the kitchen and asked them to sit and relax. All of them sat when suddenly Gurvinder spoke, "Shehnaaz mera bag room mai rakh ke aa."

She was about to pick his bag when Sidharth interrupted, "Aru please fan ki speed badha. Iske haath aur pairo ki mehnadi jaldi sukh jaayegi."

"Kya keh rahe ho bhai aap. Mere kaha haath-pairo mai mehnadi lagi hai." Gurvinder said.

"Haan bass yahi confirm karna tha. Iska matlab hai tu chal-phir sakta hai aur bag bhi utha sakta hai." Sidharth said sarcastically.

"Kya aap bhi mazak kar rahe ho. Vaise bhi karne do isse kaam. Abhi se aadat daalne do kaam karne ki aur jhukne ki. Karna toh isse yahi hai." He said casually which made Sidharth stood up in anger. Seeing his fists Gurvinder stood up and ran to his room taking his bag along with him.

Sidharth gestured her to go and change her school dress when he saw worried expressions on her face. He wondered how much her family would push her to leave her childishness and become mature just because she is a girl.

Reet called them all for lunch. Gurvinder and Shehnaaz returned after changing their school dress. Sidharth was angry with Gurvinder and also knew that he is brainwashed by his father and grandparents. After listening to what Shehnaaz told him about Gurvinder's changed behaviour, he somewhere felt that he can be changed. But what happened suddenly that he became the mini-version of Kulwant again. When Gurvinder was about to sit, Sidharth just pushed his chair remembering how he did the same with Shehnaaz few months back. It will be a lesson not to bully anyone. It did not led to anything serious but Gurvinder kissing the floor.😂

Reet rushed to pick him up when he said in a cracking tone, "Mein strong hun. Mujhe dard nahi hota." But only he knew how much pain he was in. He then stood up.

"Abey o lattu. Teri awaz tere shabdo ka saath nahi de rahi hai. Awaz se hi pata chal raha hai ki tujhe rona aa raha hai. Rona hai toh ro le. Kyu natak kar raha hai." He said nonchalantly. But his dear sister couldn't keep silent and giggled.

Gurvinder looked at Arpita who was trying to suppress her laugh and again stated, "Nahi mujhe dard nahi ho raha hai. Mein strong hun." He then sat down on the chair carefully.

Shehnaaz glared Sidharth but she looked cute. He whispered bending near her, "Kya hua hai baby? Maine kya kara hai?"

"Zyaada chant mat bano aap. Maine dekha hai aapne giraya na veerji ko." She replied cutely.
