I said goodbye to Danny at the airport. He had insisted on staying, but I insisted he go. Before he went we hugged and then shared a kiss. He also told me I could use his truck to drive around because I don't have a car. And yes I do have a license, I just never felt the need to drive myself anywhere because I never had anywhere to go.
I drove myself home to find my father drunk. I looked around and found my mother on the floor unconscience and my brother sitting next to her with a panicked face.
"Oh my god! What happened?" I look at Brandon with wide eyes as my father lifts his head up and shows that he's been crying.
"He hit her with a swifter." I look over to the corner and see a bloody swifter thrown down.
Fucking shit muffin brick shitter.
"You sorry excuse for a man, for a father, A HUSBAND!!! How could you do THIS to mom!? To our family!?" I scream as tears run down my face. I kneeled next to my mom.
"Brandon call the police or something... We need to get mom to a hospital. But don't tell them the truth. Tell them she fell or something. I will clean the broom." I say and then grab the broom and clean it. While Brandon called the police.

The ambulance arrived shortly after and took mom away.
Then I got a text from Wes.
Wanna meet?
I replied:
I don't know about that.
He replied a minute later.
Please Azariah. I have something to tell you. It's important.
I was seriously doubting that he had anything important to say to me, but he was acting strange and I wanted answers.
Fine. Where?
He replied almost instantly.
The park by your house.
I had almost forgot about that park.
Alright I will be there soon.
I didn't tell Brandon I was leaving. I just kind of left.
I showed up and sat on a swing, then I saw a figure walk up beside me.
"Azariah, you actually showed up!" Wes yelled with excitement. Something was definately up with him.
I got up, looking at him weird.
"Yea I came. I only came because I want answers..."
He looked down at his hands and then grabbed something out of his pocket.
A photo.
He looked at it and something in his face changed.
"Azariah... I brought proof just incase you thought I was lying."
"About what?" I ask.
"Look at this photo." He pushes the photo towards me.
As I looked at the photos my mind reeled. My eyes became wide and I glanced up at Wes in confusion.
"I have a twin brother..." He looked guilty.
"Why are you telling me this?" I ask as I shove the photo at him.
"Because... My twin brother, Frank, stole my life, locked me away. He even intimidated my parents into doing his biding." He looked away shamefully.
"What?" I didn't know what to say.
"It was me who asked you out, but my brother found out and took it for advantage. He threatened me, threatened to kill me, kill you. He did all those things to you, you and your brother, your family." He pauses. "I tried to talk to you and he found out, that is why he tried to... to rape you and... and murder you and Brandon." He looked down.
"Wes..." I was at loss of words.
"He found out you moved here. He attacked you at that guys house. I had to fix it so I showed up at your homecoming... I acted like him, the gun was fake by the way, I had to tell you at the right time that it wasn't me, that I had a twin." He looked away. "Frank will find out... Frank will come after you and Danny again and I want to help." He looks at me.
"Ok. Ok I believe you."
"Great. Just text me if you ever need anything." He looked toward a car I had never seen, the truck must've been Frank's.
"Wait Wes I have a question."
"What?" He looked at me.
"Do you hate your brother for what he did?" I knew it was a stupid question.
"Everyday of my life I spend hating my brother, because he took away the most amazing and beautiful person that I ever met." He pulled me into a hug.
"I never got to say goodbye to the real Wes." I pulled away from the hug and pulled into a kiss instead, but it wasn't a lovey kind of kiss, it was more of a goodbye kiss, one of those you see in movies.
"Thank you for telling me. But nothing between us is changing. I love Danny now. I know you will find someone a lot better than me." I gave him a sad face, I had loved him, but that was years ago. Even though he had been basically sabotaged, my feelings changed and now Danny was who I loved. He was mine.
"I understand. My intention was not to get you back. I had to make things right. So you knew that I was not that guy and we could at least be friends...." He looked down at his hands, like he had something else to say.
"Go on." I insisted.
"I have to tell you something.... While I was searching for you, after you moved away. I figured my life out.... I'm gay." He smiled.
"Well. I wasn't expecting that." I smiled back.
"I would say I'm bisexual, but you were the only girl I ever had actual feelings for. I have my eye on someone else though." He smirks.
"Who?" I ask curiously.
"Well. You will find out eventually, if I ever had the guts to ask him out."
I got a text from Brandon.
You need to come home. Mom came home and Dad left to go stay at a hotel.
I said goodbye and went home.
Brandon was not too happy that I left, but he was glad I was ok.
