*ABOUT THREE MONTHS LATER*
I was on my way to the hospital with Danny in his truck. I was finally in labor.
I was really excited to find out the gender of my baby.
Danny was holding my hand as we slowly walked into the hospital.
Danny called for a nurse. A nurse ran over immediately, calling for a wheelchair. I was set in a wheelchair, and then wheeled off to go have this baby.
When the doctor handed me my baby, telling me it was a boy, I smiled.
I looked at Danny, and then our child.
Danny Jr. That had a nice ring to it. I looked back at Danny.
"Let's call him Danny Jr. I like that." Danny smiled.
"I like it too." Danny said as he touched our baby's face. "We can call him DJ." He grinned widely.
I chuckle. "You can call him that."
*THREE YEARS LATER* WEDDING DAY*
*Danny POV*
We waited until our child could walk, so he could be the ring bearer.
Carrie had had a child a year after mine, so her two year old, Bryana, was the flower girl.
I was getting ready with Connor and his boyfriend. Azariah was getting ready with Carrie.
Just like on the day of Homecoming. I was nervous as fuck.
Brandon came in and told me that I needed to get my ass out there because the wedding was about to start.
So I left the room with Connor and his boyfriend.
I took my spot and watched as the groomsmen and bridesmaids walked down the aisle. Carrie and her husband were the first pair, being the maid of honor and the best man. Then the rest followed them.
The ring bearer and the flower girl walked down the aisle together.
Then, as everyone settled into their spots, Azariah and her father made their way down the aisle. Azariah was even more beautiful than the day of Homecoming.
As she reached the end of the aisle, she stopped and turned toward her father, giving him a hug. Then, he kissed her cheek, then whispered something into her ear.
He walked to his assigned seat and Azariah walked to her spot in front of me.
The priest said all the mumbo jumbo that he was supposed to. Then, Azariah and I exchanged vows.
Then he finally announced I could kiss my fucking bride. 'Bout time.
Danny Jr. held up the pillow containing the two rings. Azariah put a hand over her heart because he was so cute.
Azariah and I exchanged the rings.
It was the after party, and I was at a table with Azariah. Then I asked her what her dad had whispered to her.
"Oh, he told me to tell you..." she said shyly.
I replied to her, "Tell me what?"
Azariah looked me in the eye, man, then said the words that made my heart fill with joy. "I'm pregnant, again."
I smile. "How long have you known?"
She grabbed my hand, and said, "Two weeks."
I ask her, "So, are we finding out the gender the hard way, or the easy way?"
She chuckles. "Easy way this time. I want to know sooner."
I say, "So, when can we find out?"
"Five months in." she says.
I smile. "Can't wait."
*FIVE MONTHS LATER*
Azariah and I walk into the doctor's office.
She takes her seat and the doctor performs the ultrasound. We're about to find out the baby's gender, and we're both excited.
The doctor walks in and announces, drum roll please, it's a girl.
Azariah looks at me and smiles the biggest smile I've ever seen.
I roll my eyes. "Go ahead, I know you want to."
She smirks, "Let's name her Mariah."
I smirk back. "What ever you want, babe...uh, I mean wife."
Azariah reached out and smacked my arm, then chuckled. "Let's go home. And save Carrie from DJ." I glance in amusement at her. She makes a puzzled face.
"You called him DJ." She glares at me and then smacks me again.
We get into the car, and I decide to surprise her. I made her close her eyes.
We drive to a beach. I tell her not to peek. Then, I go out to the trunk and pull out the blanket I keep in there. I pull Azariah out of the car, she still has her eyes closed. Then, I guide her to the perfect spot on the beach, and make her sit down.
"Open your eyes." I say.
She gasps as she sees where we are, and how beautiful the sunset is.
We had a long silence as we watched the sun set.
I turn to her and tell her that I love her.
She looks at me and says she loves me too.
As the last light was shining on us, I pulled her in for a kiss.
This was the start of the rest of my life.
And I was damn sure I was going to enjoy it.
