Chapter 4

Rhett’s POV

When my eyes first landed oh Shaelyn I felt a pull towards her but my wolf didn’t react at first once she made the change however “Mine” was all that was running through my head. My wolf wanted nothing more than to claim her, right then and there. But I knew I couldn’t she wouldn’t know what was going on; it was obvious that she was sheltered and kept in the dark about wolf life.

After Shaelyn took off into the forest I wanted to take off after her, having the urge to protect her. Both my wolf and I wanted her close to us, no... We needed her next to us.

Once Tucker got off the phone with whom I presume was their father and Alpha of Silver Moon Pack I had to approach him.

“Tucker, if you don’t mind I’d like to come and offer my services to help out in any way I can.” I sensed that he was object, but I couldn’t let him.

“I insist on it, after all it was I who offered you guys to smoke and I feel bad for opening up a can of worms for you.”

“Alright man, I mean if you insist.”

‘Rhett I'm going with you.’

 

‘Yea bro I got your back.’

 

“We will follow you back to your pad.”

I can always count on Darren and Blake, no matter what the situation is they have my back. It was turning out to be a quiet ride, which was fine with me; it gave me more time to think about her. My wolf was being restless, and it made me feel uneasy.

“So Rhett I get that Shae is a good looking girl, but why do you need to help out? Its obvious that they have some family drama going on and you’ve never been the one to jump in and lend a hand…”

My hands clenched around the steering wheel at just the sound of another male mentioning my mates name in a negative way.

I couldn’t hold it in, a fierce growl rumbled out of my chest. “Mine” was all I could say, the tension in the car doubled and the rest of the ride was dead quiet. Once we pulled up I hesitated before getting out of the car.

“She is my mate. And I don’t know what is going to happen at the moment, that why I need to be here. Let’s keep this between us, until I know what I'm going to do.”

I got out of the car leaving my secret with my two best friends since childhood.

Shaelyn’s POV

Running through the woods feeling free has such a calming effect on both me and my wolf, she was begging me to let her take over but I knew I couldn’t do that. I didn’t know what would happen if I did, and I didn’t want to find out just yet. I had others problems on my plate right now that I needed to deal with.
