The crew arrived at the city of Deringo in no time thanks to Emiko. As they looked around, out of the corner of her eye, Emiko saw a flash of green. She turned quickly to see a green-haired boy standing in front of them.

He wore a white button-down shirt with black pants and a large green coat hung over his shoulders. "Pardon the intrusion," he greeted them with a smile, "but I was wondering if I may join your party."

"Huh," Horohoro said confused, "and just who are you?"

"Forgive me, I should've introduced myself. My name is Lyserg Diethel and I'm participating in the Shaman Fight from England. Nice to meet you!"

"Wow, another cutie!" Ryu said excitedly.

Emi mentally gagged. She could almost feel herself want to throw-up on herself. Her outfit for the day was a pair of baggy ripped jeans, a yellow blouse paired with white tennis shoes. Compared to the others, Emiko looked more like she was going to a magazine shoot than to a fight.

"Hi I'm Yoh, nice to meet you too!"

Emiko stood dumbfounded as Yoh casually shook Lyserg's hand. 'How naive can he be," she thought to herself.

"Hold up! You're not gonna give him the cold shoulder!?" Horohoro yelled in anger.

"Adding another weakling to our party won't do us any good," Ren commented.

"I agree, after all he could be some kind of spy for another party," she accused.

"Wait, that cuties a dude!?" Ryu asked loudly.

Lyserg nodded his head in confirmation. "I promise, I only used my dowsing skills to find someone who knew how to get to the Patch tribes village," he explained. At that even Yoh became a little suspicious.

"What's dowsing?" Ryu asked suddenly.

Emiko sighed in annoyance as she explained what dowsing skills were. Lyserg looked shocked at her knowledge of the skill, "Do you perhaps use dowsing as well?"

"Nah, I just know what it is," she explained, still studying him.

"Something's still not right," Horohoro commented.

"I guess I'll just have to do this the hard way," Lyserg said as he took off his coat, "Let's fight and if I win then you'll let me join your party."

"Yeah sure like that's ever gonna happen!" Horohoro agreed while he quickly unsheathed his large snowboard.

"Horohoro no!" Yoh yelled.

'This isn't a good idea,' Emiko thought. She puffed out a large sigh as they watched Lyserg attack Horohoro with his pendulum.

"If you think you can beat me with that puny litt-" Horohoro tried to say as he dodged Lysergs first advance. Horohoro accidently slammed himself into a tree while dodging which led to Emiko's sudden laughter. "Haha, yes that's right just keep laughing until I beat this guy's butt! Then I'll beat you as well!" Horohoro yelled as he stood back up.

"I guess you really are as stupid as you look," Lyserg commented.

At that Emiko's amusement leveled up in volume, "Hahaha! He really got you there!"
