"Go Kel!"

"C'mon Kel! You can do it!"

"KEEEELLLLL!"

Cheering erupted. Basil stood up from the stands and cheered.

They had won! Kel's team had won!

Everyone bustled around after the game. People cheered on their friends and family who had been playing. A small crowd was surrounding Kel.

Aubrey elbowed him. She locked eyes with his.

"I think he wants to see you." She smiled.

He made his way to Kel, squeezing through people, apologizing profusely. He felt his face heat up.

"Hey Basil!" Kel exclaimed, running into Basil and enveloping him into a really tight hug.

"You-you did great!" He squeaked.

"Heheh thanks! Couldn't have done it without you guys support!" He replied enthusiastically, scratching the back of his sweaty head. His face was tinged pink. 'Probably from all that running around.' Basil thought idly.

"Well! C'mon! Let's go celebrate your victory at Gino's!" Aubrey suggested, wrapping one of her arms around Kel's shoulder. Then she put her other arm around Basil.

"Wow Kel! You're actually so cool!"

"Not that big of nerd after all."

"Kel may be an airhead, but he sure can shoot some hoops!"

Basil walked along side Kel, Aubrey and her crew surrounding them. They still made him a bit nervous, but things had been cleared up.

They arrived at Gino's. Greasy food wasn't Basil's go-to for source of nutrients, but for Kel's sake, he would comply and eat some pizza.

They all walked in, scattering. Basil chose a seat near the corner, his hands fiddling with the hem of his sweater vest.

"Hey, Bas."

Basil jumped, he looked up. It was Kel.

Kel plopped down in the seat across from him.

"You good?"

"Huh!? Y-yeah!" Basil stuttered. He hoped Kel wouldn't notice how red his face had probably become.

"Uhm. You did great out there."

"Thanks! Hey. I was wondering... Maybe I could teach you some basketball stuff? Just for fun, you know..."

Basil looked at Kel.

"I-I dunno. I've never been that good at sports. I appreciate it, though."

"Oh... Okay..."

They fell into an awkward silence.

Then Aubrey came over.

"Uh I think these are the food you ordered." She smiled awkwardly, and gave Basil some weird look.

Basil hadn't even heard their order number called out.

"T-thanks Aubrey!" He said, managing a smile.

"No problem. Kel, the pizzas your's and.... The salad is Basil's, right."

"Y-yeah. Thank you." He grabbed the bowl.

"Oh c'mon Basil why don't you eat some pizza!? It's suuuuuuper good!"

"I-I don't know Kel-"

He looked over to where Aubrey was, but she had already returned to the table her and some of her friends were at. She was giving Basil weird looks, and whispering to her friends, as if she didn't know that Basil was watching her.
