Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader

Word Count: 3,530ish

Summary: The team struggles with waiting for any information on you.

Warnings: angst, medical stuff, panic

Notes: I know I keep saying 'just one more part', but I've decided that this is now going to be a mini-series. I will be making a masterlist later today. Hopefully the fact that I'm making a few more parts is okay with everyone. I haven't felt able to write so freely like this in a long time. It feels wonderful.

Twelve hours had passed. Twelve long, excruciating hours.

Twelve hours since you crashed and Tony straddled you and began compressions.

Twelve hours since you were taken away from the team and locked away in the surgical wing with the med team.

Twelve hours since Natasha helped Tony up to his lab and then was locked out of it, the man not wanting anyone near him.

Twelve hours since Steve sat down in the corner of the waiting room, refusing to clean up or speak.

Everyone on the team but Tony and Steve had cleaned up. Rhodey and Pepper had arrived and were working to coax Tony out of his lab while everyone else was stuck in the waiting room. Sam and Bucky were leaning against the wall, keeping watch of Steve. Natasha and Clint were in the corner adjacent to Steve, with Natasha just sitting there and Clint quietly talking to his wife on the phone. Bruce was pacing the room, a tablet in his hand that he was using to try and get into your medical file he was suddenly being locked out of. Wanda and Vision were sitting on the same side as Natasha and Wanda, holding onto each other.

"Hey guys," Peter timidly greeted as he and happy walked in with drink carriers and large brown bags.

"Hey," a few of the team members solemnly responded.

"Pepper had a bring food," Happy stated, setting the bags down on the coffee table in the center of the room.

"And drinks!" Peter added, following Happy's actions.

"Thanks," Sam responded as he shot the kid a small smile.

"Any news?" Happy asked.

"Not yet," Natasha sighed, reaching over to grab her and Clint some food.

"I'm sure she'll pull through," Peter said. "Y/N's tough."

Steve scoffed causing everyone to stare at him. "You didn't see her," he whispered. "You didn't see the amount of blood." Steve twisted his bloodied hands around as he spoke. "No one can sustain injuries like that and live... they're just too scared to come out and tell us the truth."

The members of the team worriedly eyed each other.

"Steve," Wanda gently called, removing herself from Vision's hold to go over and sit beside her Captain. "She's still with us. I can feel it. I can show you."

Steve kept his focus on his hands, waiting a few seconds before nodding. Wanda lifted her hand to hover near Steve's head. Red tendrils floated from her fingertips to his head. Steve gasped lightly at the contact.

"Can you feel her?" Wanda asked. "It's dim, but she's still there. She's still fighting... for you."

Tears sprung from Steve's eyes and began to trickle down his cheeks. "Thank you," he rasped.

"Of course." She sat there and carefully watched him for a moment. "Why don't you go change? You don't want to be covered in her blood when you're allowed to see her."
