BROTHERS BY CHOICE.
—————
Jeon Jungkook felt his figure halt as shortly as he was informed that the King is expecting him. Da-woon refused to disclose as to why and it merely piled up the unrest of the youthful yet accomplished member of the Asadal royalty.
Being the son of a celebrated private messenger of the new King's father, Jungkook instantly attained the position once Kim Namjoon converted the Supreme Dangun of the two confederate states. Unlike Jung Hoseok, Jungkook took a fondness of the King ever since he was a child, being present at the palace all his life because of his father, gave him a prospect to devote time with the royal family more often. To him, Namjoon was a role model, his intelligence and his persistence can be venerated from afar by many, and for Jungkook, it directly shaped an image of an older brother who can continuously give guidance and shield when needed.
He gradually and vigilantly made his way to the King's spaces through the corridors of the palace, unusual place of meeting the King but he tried to not attention as much on that but rather wonder why he was roused.
Upon forthcoming the entrances concealed with stunning yet artless embellishment, he quickly glanced at the guards who rewarded no consideration to him and urged the hefty gates open, hearing their scraping and sensing the odour of renewed hibiscus tea and additional diverse incense which was commonly scorched within the King's quiescent chambers.
"Jungkook," the King's voice termed out once the younger male treaded base into the chambers, "took you lengthy enough,"
Jungkook instantly bent with admiration as the guards locked the doors after him, "I apologise, your majesty,"
He heard a exhalation from before him and tentatively raised his head, meeting the lenient eyes of his so-called brother, "you do not have to be proper when you are alone with me, you do remember that?"
Jungkook only dipped, looking to his right with a bit of indignity, it was a routine of his to regard all elders, even if they were alone and told him to be more unperturbed with them, but Namjoon forever understood that and would simply remind the younger male to be less nervous with him, after all, they were brothers by choice.
"Why did you call me today?" The personal messenger finally asked, deliberately approaching the King who was sat on a cushion before a small table with a teapot and two cups, "especially at this hour,"
Namjoon beamed tenderly, his dimples visible as he picked up the pot and poured some fresh hibiscus tea into the two cups, his smile never parting his face as Jungkook moderately sat down on a cushion before the King, eyes never leaving him. He surveyed Namjoon's fingers adeptly and slightly hold the kitchenware and as capably pick up a smaller plate with jasmine leaves, those graceful fingers taking a few dried leaves and dusting them into the sweltering tea before setting the plate down and conclusively looking up to Jungkook's unreadable face but constantly questioning eyes.
