My name is Amy Cement. Some children call me a 'Karen,' but I believe that term is sexist and should no longer be used. Recently, I met a tall man named Kai at a Walmart. After he locked me in a vault to protect me from an evil mastermind (I think her name was Sara?). We exchanged numbers shortly afterward, and we're about to go on a date! We're going to see fireworks!
I started humming as I was curling and hair spraying my hair, preparing for my date. I had already done my makeup and I was wearing a neat blue blazer with a dark red business skirt. I had a white button up underneath my blazer as well. I checked my Rolex and realized it was time to go! I hurries to finish curling my hair, grabbed my Michael Kors purse and headed out the door.
I hopped inside my light grey minivan and headed to the hill we were meeting on to watch the fireworks. It was Fourth of July, and that's why my attire was red white and blue. Clever, right? I even added blue and white star earrings on top of it all! I was very excited.
I pulled up into the dirt parking lot that was full of cars. I harassed an older woman for her parking spot that was close to the spot where Kai and I were meeting. Hey! It was more important that I'm closer to Kai than this older woman who can walk a few extra steps to her car. She had a cane, she could do it. I parked my car and grabbed the blanket we planned on sitting on and headed up the hill, still thinking about how proud I was of being able to snag such a great parking spot.
I told Kai that he was in charge of the food because of his excellent cooking skills and he happily obliged. I arrived on top of the hill and laid our blanket out, waiting for Kai. I sat down and thought about where he might be. Just then, I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Hello, Ms. Cement." I turned around and Kai was standing there! He must have set the food down without me noticing, because on my left there was a pile of tupperware full of food. As soon as I saw Kai I smiled and tucked my caramel hair back behind my ear, looking up at his tallness. "Apologies, Amy. I must go fetch our drinks." Kai said before leaving again.
While I waited for his return I looked at the food through their containers. There were casseroles and a multitude of egg dishes. I loved eggs! And so did Kai! We have to be meant to be. The sky was darkening, but not so much that fireworks would start yet. Still, they must be coming up soon. I hope Kai gets back here soon so we can spend as much time together as possible!
As if reading my mind, Kai arrived just then with two tall glasses and a 2 liter of Dr. Thunder. Oh my goodness, Dr. Thunder! My favorite drink! He sat down and poured us each a drink and then sat the 2 liter aside.
"Wow, the food looks edible! You're so much better at cooking than those guys at Elefino. Every time you cook for me I often am able to swallow it!" I said to my boyfriend Kai.
"I am glad you enjoy it, Amy. It really is nothing special, so I appreciate your kind words." Kai responded.
We opened up the tupperware and started distributing the food onto paper plates that were brought up with the food and we started eating. As the night sky drew darker, the fireworks came closer.
"I am sad to see the sky's yolk disappear, but tonight I have something to look forward to. Watching these fireworks with you will be most enjoyable for me." Kai said, making me blush. I covered it up by taking a big drink of Dr. Thunder, and then smiling coldly at him.
Soon enough the sky was dark enough to start shooting fireworks. We watched as the fireworks of multiple colors burst into the sky. The fireworks were beautiful, but not as beautiful as your mother- I MEAN KAI. Yes, Kai is the most beautiful man. Kai's hand slid on top of mine, and I took that as an invitation to hold his hand.
"I wish this moment would last forever." Kai said, looking over at me. I gripped his hand tighter. "That would be nice." I responded.
The fireworks became more rapid and it became more difficult to hear. But it was okay, because as long as I was here with Kai that would be okay. I poured myself more Dr. Thunder and took another drink.
"These fireflies shine brightly, but you shine even brighter." Kai said.
"Ok." I responded. Kai was very sweet.
We finished our food and stacked the tupperware on top of each other.
"I would like to ask you a question." Kai said. I looked over at him and he pointed to the sky. Not too long after, a bright white and yellow firework shaped like an egg appeared in the sky. Above it wrote the words: "Will you marry me?"
I looked back over to Kai in surprise and he was on one knee, holding a box with a ring inside of it.
"Amy Cement, you are so beautiful and you are the kindest and most understanding person I know. Will you stay with me forever?" Kai asked. I jumped up and screamed.
"Yes, yes! A thousand times, yes!" I hugged him and we kissed, then sat back down. The rest of the night was the most wonderful time with my new fiance.
