A/N: dearest gentle readers,

The journey is near its end. It has been a pleasure of mine to share this story of two lost souls searching for one another in such a world of judgements and fear.

What started with hatred has changed into something utterly beautiful but oh so complicated.

However, is this truly the end? Will both souls find happiness apart?

Let us find out.

Sincerely,

Lovely

'I beg a word, please meet me by the lake.'
-Jennie

Lisa stared at the note one of her servants had given her for a few minutes now. Her thumb caressed the ink written name, Jennie,  as her mind began to wonder from the night before. How close they were to share a kiss. But of course, Lisa would not allow it to happen. She could not allow it to happen, no matter how much she burned for her touch, her scent, her smile, her everything.

She sighed and placed the letter down before placing her face in her hands.

"Your highness?"

Lisa gasped and dropped her hands. She faced the opened door and met Esther's small smile. She inhaled deeply with a shaky smile,

"My goodness Esther. You frightened me," Lisa laughed lightly before moving across the room towards her bed, "No need to make my bed, I am capable," she reassured. But Esther walked towards Lisa desk and slowly took the note,

"My apologies, your highness. I do not mean to impose but I noticed you haven't gone to see Lady Jennie," she pointed out carefully. Lisa stilled for a second before sighing and smoothing out the wrinkles on her bed,

"It is because I do not want to," Lisa answered stiffly, "My mind is much too preoccupied at the moment," she reasoned. Suddenly, a gentle hand was placed on Lisa's shoulder. Lisa's gaze followed the arm till it landed on Esther's sad smile,

"I must insist you go, your highness. I do not want your highness to have any regrets this evening," Esther said, taking Lisa's hand and placing the note on her palm. Lisa studied Esther's eye before smiling softly,

"You saw us last night, did you not?"

Esther flushed in shame, "I had not realized the situation till..." she cleared her throat, "No matter. I shall tidy your bedroom and you should make haste to the lake, your highness." Lisa laughed as she stepped towards her door,

"Are you ordering your Princess?" She teased. Esther giggled,

"I fear his excellency and only his excellency," She replied with a smug like smile. Lisa chuckled and winked,

"That answer pleases me," she said before walking out of her bedroom.

Her heart failed to remain steady as the lake entered her view. The sun felt warm and the breeze was cool, the perfect kind of weather, Lisa thought. The lake had its same shimmer from the sunlight but her eyes were not on the lake, nor was it on the flowers. It was on Jennie.

Jennie stood there on the grass, just by the tree they stood under before. Her arms were crossed and her eyes seemed lost. Her hair was free and flowing softly by the breeze, along with her light pink dress. Lisa smiled, it was the same colored dress she wore the day they had met.

Lisa stepped quietly to Jennie till she stood beside her, facing the silent, still lake. No sound rang around them. It was peaceful. But curiosity took the better of Lisa.
