Chapter Seven: The Gender Reveal
"Junnie, are you almost finished?" Jaemin called out as he headed out the door.
Renjun grabbed his bag, following Jeno down the stairs. Today they were visiting the doctor to find out the baby's gender. Renjun was excited; he couldn't wait to tell the twins whether they would have a baby brother or sister.
They arrived at the hospital, and Jeno helped Renjun out of the car. "I can't wait to see what gender the baby is, Renjunnie," he said, grabbing onto Renjun's hand. Jaemin took Renjun's other hand as they walked into the clinic.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Huang. How has your pregnancy been?" the doctor asked.
Renjun hummed before responding, "It's been good, although I'm sicker than I was with the twins."
The doctor nodded. "How about you lay on this bed for me."
Renjun lay down and adjusted himself to get comfortable. "Now I'm gonna rub this gel on you. It's gonna be cold, so prepare," the doctor said before squirting a little bit of gel on Renjun's stomach.
Renjun winced at how cold it was. Jaemin and Jeno watched in awe; they really loved Renjun.
"Now I'm gonna use this tool to scan, okay?" the doctor said as he rubbed the gel onto Renjun's stomach. Renjun nodded as he watched the monitor beside him.
Tears started to form in Renjun's eyes as the baby appeared on the screen. He couldn't believe it. That was their baby—his, Jeno's, and Jaemin's baby. He was overwhelmed with happiness.
He started to cry. "Mr. Huang? Are you okay?" the doctor asked, worried.
"I'm okay, Doc—just tears of joy," Renjun replied.
Jeno and Jaemin were also stunned. "Jaem, that's our baby," Jeno said to Jaemin, who nodded.
"I know, Jeno, I know."
"It's a... baby girl!" the doctor announced.
Jaemin wiped his sweat as he hung the little picture on the wall above a small peach-colored crib. The three looked at it, smiling.
"Jieun," Jaemin spoke out. "Let's name her Jieun."
The other two nodded. "Lovely," Renjun smiled.
