Chapter Ten: The Perfect Plan
Jeno smiled at Renjun as they prepared for their date. Jeno and Jaemin were particularly excited today; they had a special plan in mind. They were going to propose to Renjun, but this time, it would be genuine and heartfelt, not forced.
Renjun dressed in a typical outfit: an oversized white T-shirt, black jeans, white Converse, and a black beret. Jeno wore a black open-sleeve shirt, gray joggers, Nikes, and a cap. Jaemin sported a mint hoodie, blue jeans, and black Converse.
The three of them stepped outside and got into the car. Jeno and Jaemin had meticulously planned the day. First, they would take Renjun to the park for some fun, maybe meeting some kids or animals. Then, they would head to the nearby carnival where they would enjoy the rides, especially the Ferris wheel, which Jaemin had always wanted to ride. Finally, when Renjun least expected it, they would propose to him. Afterward, they planned to surprise him with a luxurious bath filled with candles and rose petals before ending the night.
That was the plan, and they hoped everything would go perfectly.
They soon arrived at the park, parked the car, and got out. Renjun grabbed his boyfriends' hands. "Isn't the park nice?"
They nodded. "Of course, Renjunnie, it's always nice to come here and hang out," Jeno replied.
They walked over to a nearby bench, watching the ducks waddle around and the children run and play.
"Next time we should bring the twins here," Jaemin suggested. "Maybe they could make some friends."
They both nodded in agreement. "Don't you guys ever want to be kids again? You know, when you were innocent and didn't have any hardships?" Renjun mused.
"Of course, but if we were kids, we wouldn't have met you yet," Jeno responded.
Jaemin hummed in agreement. "Yeah, I think the best thing that's happened in my life is you."
Renjun couldn't help but blush. They were real charmers. "Thanks, guys," he said, kissing both of their cheeks.
"Hey, mister," a little boy with blond hair ran up to them. "Do you like guys?" he asked curiously.
Renjun looked at Jeno and Jaemin before nodding. "Mhm!" he said enthusiastically.
"But mister, aren't we only supposed to like girls?" the boy asked, tilting his little head.
"You're a cutie," Renjun said, getting up before kneeling down. "Love comes in all shapes and forms. It doesn't matter what gender or race they are, dear. Love is love, and we can all love who we want, okay?"
Renjun patted the kid's hair. He nodded up and down quickly. "Mhm! I understand, mister."
Renjun smiled. "Minho!" a woman called out, running over to him. "Phew! I thought I lost you, you little troublemaker."
"Mom! The mister and his boyfriends were talking to me." She gave Renjun a grateful smile. "Thanks for looking after him. He can get into a lot of trouble."
Renjun nodded. "He's a cutie." He waved at Minho before pausing. He took off the small bracelet he was wearing.
"Here," he said, handing it to the boy.
"For me? Thank you, mister," Minho exclaimed, running over to him.
"Mhm. We're the best of friends now."
The little boy jumped in excitement. "Thanks, mister! I hope to see you again!"
The trio walked down the sidewalk to the carnival near the park. Jaemin was the most excited; he was ready to get on some rides, eat cotton candy, and probably vomit it all up later.
They walked up to the ticket stand. "Tickets for three, please," Jeno said.
"Okay, that'll be thirty dollars, sir," the cashier replied.
Jeno reached for his pocket before pausing. "I-I forgot to bring my wallet," he said, embarrassed.
"I didn't bring mine either," Jaemin added, checking his pockets quickly.
Renjun giggled before pulling out his wallet, opening it, and handing thirty dollars to the cashier. "Jun, you didn't have to pay for us. We wanted to pay for you instead. It was our treat," Jeno said with a pout.
Renjun just smiled, grabbing their arms and walking into the amusement park with them.
They ended up getting on a lot of rides and even shared romantic kisses on the Ferris wheel. It was the best date in Renjun's opinion, and he couldn't wait to get home to see what else his boys had planned.
"God, that last ride was something," Jaemin said, touching his head, feeling dizzy from the attraction.
"I don't think—" he paused before falling unconscious to the ground. "Jaemin!" Renjun yelled as he and Jeno ran over to him, trying to wake him up.
"Jaem! Wake up!" At this point, Renjun was starting to tear up. What had happened to make him pass out?
Jeno quickly pulled out his phone. "Um, yes, my boyfriend fell to the ground unconscious," he said quickly in a panicked tone. "H-he was riding a ride at the carnival, and once he got off, he passed out. Can you send someone, please?" he asked, starting to sob.
All of this was happening too fast, and they couldn't process it all.
"Okay, please hurry. He's still unconscious," Jeno said to the operator.
They hoped Jaemin would be alright.
