Chapter 11

(Minx's POV)

I woke up the next morning in a kind of haze. I tried to get up from bed, but almost immediately fell over in pain. That's when I looked down at myself, and gasped.

I had bruises, cuts and burns all up and down my entire body. It hurts to move, it hurts to do anything, so I sit back down in bed.

I then hear the door knock, and in walks Duchess Christy and Duchess Krism, carrying Connor and Micayla. I became a lot happier as I sat up in bed and Duchess Christy and Duchess Krism handed me both Connor and Micayla, so I was holding both of my lovely babies in my arms. I smiled.

This happiness only lasted until the Duchesses said to me "You need to get ready for the day."

They put my children into their cribs in my room, and a third lady came into my room and bowed. She had brown hair and blue eyes.

Before I could even ask her who she was, she said "You must be Princess Minx, King Nanner's newest 'conquest'. You may have heard of me...I'm Duchess Cayla."

That's when it all clicked.

(Nanner's POV)

I walked back and forth, pacing the staircase. "What is taking her so long?!?!" I thought, annoyed.

Finally, after I must've paced the stairs back and forth 200 times, if not more, Princess Minx made her way down the stairs, accompanied by Duchesses Christy, Krism, and Cayla. I didn't trust Duchess Cayla, especially after what happened between us and a certain Duke, but for this, I guess I did.

Princess Minx is wearing a dark purple dress that poured out at her waist, beautifully defining her in every way. I take her hand at the bottom of the stairs, much to her apparent disgust, and lead her to her throne. I sit on my throne next to hers, and held her hand as the royal ceremony occurs.

Who said power didn't come with the girl after all? Because I now have both.

(Chilled's POV)

The Duke Crew is worried about me. I don't eat, I don't sleep, I just sit in the corner of my cell, on my bed, thinking.

I think about my parents, who have already gone.

I think about Nanners, and how much I want to punish him.

I think about Connor and Micayla, hoping they're doing ok.

I sometimes think about the future, and the life I may lead if I ever get out.

But mostly, I just think about Princess Minx.

I miss her! I miss her cuddling into my side, I miss our long talks, I miss raising our kids together, I miss it all. I'm also really scared for her. I know that Nanners was really horrible to her before, so logic says he'll do it again. I just hope she can break free and escape. I don't care if I die, I just want her free.

I look up from the wall I stare at all the time, getting some crazy looks from the Duke Crew, and I look at the door. As if on cue, the door to the dungeon opens and in walks someone in armor with weapons, which signifies only one thing: changing of the guards.

This guard is different though, I've never seen him on this rotation. He has brown hair, but the major feature of him was the white mask covering almost all of his face.

As soon as the other guard leaves, the masked guard says to the five of us "If you don't know who I am, I'm Duke Ohm. You are Prince Chilled," he says, point at me before continuing, "and the Duke Crew," he adds pointing at Tom Ze, Smarty, and GaLm in turn.

"Trust me when I say: we have a plan to get the five of you free, and to reunite you with Minx, Connor, and Micayla. So you all should probably listen up."
