(Minx's POV)

I realized there was nothing left to do. Nanners was right behind me, sword pointed directly at me. I couldn't do anything, and I had no way to contact any of my friends.

King Nanners laughed behind me. "You thought you could escape from me! Ha ha how cute!" he said, laughing, but still holding the sword to my back.

Although I knew that this was the end, that there was nothing left for me to do, I felt a sense of joy. I knew,  leaving this world, that Chilled was in love with me, and would be forever. I knew he'd take such good care of our kids. as I felt the sword go off of my back to just be stabbed back into it, I thought of Chilled and our kids, and I let go.

(Chilled's POV)

I ran.

I ran all the way into the castle, all the way up every flight of stairs, down every hall, until I found the room.

Her room.

I just hoped I'd have enough time.

I'd though far enough ahead to grab one of the swords hanging on the wall, and from accidentally swinging it into the wall, I knew it was real.

As I climbed up the stairs, and ran though the halls, I though of Minx. I couldn't afford to lose her, not now, not ever! In fact, I needed her more than ever now.

I heard laughter coming though one of the doors, and although I hadn't heard that laughter in a few years, I knew exactly who's laughter it was.

I slowly, quietly opened the door........

to see King Nanners, pulling back the sword in his hand to stab Minx, who somehow was remaining at peace.

And I heard him say,  "All this could have just been avoided if you would have just married me, lived your life with me. You could have had anything you wanted, your kids and our kids could have been happy, we could have been so happy together."

I stopped. He wasn't moving his sword either, as he'd just been talking about "what if".

'But what if?' I thought to myself. 'What if she is truly better without me? King Nanners is probably right...'

But in that same moment, the rest of me said 'NO. Stop, you know that isn't true.'

"You have one more chance Minx. Just say you'll marry me, say you'll be mine forever, he threatened, bringing the sword closer and closer to her back.

"Never." I heard her say, which gave me all the motivation I needed. I brought my sword back, and stabbed it all of the way through his back.

(Minx's POV)

In that moment, I heard an "oof", and I was sure I was dead. I tried to look around, wondering what made this the afterlife, because it looked exactly like normal life.

But then I heard the thud behind me, followed by the clang of a sword. I slowly turned around, wondering who just died in my afterlife....

Only to realize, I wasn't dead....

Nanners didn't kill me.....

But rather, someone killed Nanners.....

But their face wasn't to me, it was facing the wall. I gently tapped their shoulder, and they only said one sentence.

"Did you really mean that?", and nothing more.

I said "Of course I did, Nanners kept me away from my one true love..."

"Who is?" The person said, turning their head even further away from me.

"Prince Chilled." I said definitively.

The person turned toward me, a huge smile running across his face, when I realized it was Prince Chilled.

And I ran into his arms, wrapping my arms around him, never wanting to let go again.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

I was debating making this kinda a sad part, but then I changed my mind. This story deserved a little glimmer of hope to combat some of the other parts.

I'm not sure if I will add another part to this story, or if this story will just end here. Comment down below if you have an idea about it.

Anyways, this story is one of the few where I know exactly where I want it to go, and I think I got there, but there's always room for a "___" years later.

Thanks for reading, and keep on being awesome!
