Damien's perspective
I put on my favorite rock playlist and brushed my jet-black hair out of my face. I looked over to Pip, who was now humming along to the music. I enjoyed the sound of his voice. Something about it was just so comforting and soothing to me. It always has been. It wasn't all that much different from when we were kids, just a little less high-pitched. Mine on the other hand had changed a lot since then, which relieved me. I was so fucking insecure about my voice back then.I caught a glimpse of Pip's face as I rested. He looked tired and run-down, but at the same time, much more peaceful than I remembered him looking last evening. Turning to face me, Pip softly smiled. "You have a nice taste music taste" I turned to see what was currently playing. It was Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. "Thanks. I didn't know you were into rock"
"I like a lot of different music genres. Although, my favorite is probably classical or theatrical"
I found myself oddly intrigued by what Pip was saying. I was always more of a classic rock fan, but those were both alright too. Mostly, I could find myself enjoying any older style of music. Except for country. Country music sucked ass. The singers always tried too hard and the rhythm was overall shitty.Pip was continuing to hum along as he gazed out the window. I wondered, could he recognize any of the kids that he used to go to school with? Some of them have changed a lot. Like Wendy, for example, has been wearing her hair up a lot more. They've also been experimenting with different pronouns, but currently they're fine with any. And Kenny has recently been more comfortable with showing his face. He doesn't wear his hood quite as much as he used to.
"I wonder what everyone will think when they see me in school again" Pip glanced back at me with a look of curiosity, and slight worry.
"They'll probably be asking how the hell you're back" I laugh. "All I know is, they're probably gonna remember you died. You don't have that same curse that Kenny McCormick has"Pip curled up in the corner of his bed, arms around his legs. "Don't worry about it too much. I'll be there to make sure no one does anything to hurt you" In a re-assuring manner, I placed my hand on Pip's shoulder.
"Thank you.." He gave me the same timid smile he gave me when we first met. I could still remember it clearly. My first day in South Park, and my first interaction with someone who actually seemed to care about me.
"You're welcome, Pip" I got up and took the empty plate and tea cup. "Why don't you stay here and listen to some music? I'll clean these up before your aunt and uncle get here"
"Right-o" With a nod, Pip rested his head back. I headed back down to the kitchen.~~~~
While I was finishing the dishes, I saw a few kids from school playing outside. There were a few new faces that I didn't recognize from school. Some of them were probably new to South Park.
"I told you to pass the ball over, you fucking idiot!" I could hear someone yelling from inside. I immediately recognized the voice. It was Eric Cartman. Rolling my eyes, I closed the blinds so that he wouldn't see me. 'The last thing I want right now is to have to deal with that bastard' I finished drying the last plate, then put it away and left.
