"To Draco Malfoy, The Second Master Bedroom, Malfoy Manor, Wiltshire, England.  Dear Mister Malfoy, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry..." Draco read the letter that an owl had delivered to him on the morning of his birthday.

"You are permitted to bring a total of one pet to Hogwarts, of the permitted animals: Cat, Owl or Toad." Draco read out loud from the letter. Draco sneered. No way in hell would he get a pet such as an owl, toad or cat. No, Draco wanted something special. Not just wanted, needed. He needed to stand out from the crowd. He was a Malfoy, a show stopper, a prodigy, the main attraction, someone special. He ran to his Father's study to state his argument.

"Father! I have received my Hogwarts Letter, but there is a slight problem." Draco began. Lucius patted his son on the head. "Good job, Draco. What is the issue?" He asked. "The Letter states that i'm only allowed to have a cat, an owl or a toad as a pet." Draco explained, shoving the paper in his father's face and pointing to it. "Yes?" Lucius asked after he read it, knowing already where this is going.

"As a Malfoy, I think I should really make an impression by bringing a better pet." Draco told his father. "Draco, I am already allowing you to bring a broom despite not being allowed to bring one as a first year." Lucius said. "Unless you want to trade a broom for a pet, I am not getting you a pet." Lucius explained.

"I want to trade, then! Instead of a broom I want a pet." Draco said, smiling. Lucius sighed. "Alright. I'll owl Dumbledore and ask for permission. We can go looking for a pet after he writes back." Lucius said, taking out a parchment and a quill before writing a letter. Draco left with a happy smile.

Draco walked back to his room, and began opening the presents that were left at the floor near his bed.

Maybe an hour later, Lucius had received word from Dumbledore, who gave his okay on Draco bringing a different pet than the ones specified, on the condition that the animal of Draco's choosing was harmless.

There was a knock on Draco's door, which caused Draco to look up from his new book, 'A History of Wizardry', before saying, "Come in!" Lucius Malfoy stepped inside of Draco's room and smiled. "Do you know what kind of pet you want?" He asked his son. Draco leaped off his bed and hugged his father before they decided to drive into a small muggle town to find what muggles call an 'Animal Shelter'.

The two Malfoys sat down in their car, the only purpose of them owning it being in case they had to go somewhere they couldn't apparate to, and drove off.

Soon, they found an Animal Shelter titled Shelbie's Shelter. They walked in as the door chimed, and someone walked to the front desk greeting him. "Hello! How can we help you?" He said cheerfully. "We are looking for a pet." Draco said proudly, looking around at the only two doors in the room. "Right this way." The guy at the front desk said, leading them to the door on their left. They entered and immediately the animals made noise. All the pets were just dogs and cats, to Draco's utter disappointment, though he soon realized that not many muggle made it a habit of keeping pets other than dogs and cats.

Just as he turned to ask his father if they could see a different place, the eyes of one specific animal caught his eye. Unlike the other animals. This one's eyes were a brilliant green. Draco walked to it. It looked like a wolf-dog. But as Draco got closer, he recognized the animal from one of his books. "Father, isn't that-..." Draco was about to ask, but his Father answered before he finished. "A Grimm."

Draco's eyes went wide. 'These stupid muggles! They imprisoned a Grimm!? How stupid can they be do they not know what a Grimm is!? It will curse them all! Maybe they didn't notice he was a Grimm?' Draco thought. Draco went closer and was about to sit down before the Grimm growled. Draco hesitated, but sat down anyway.

The Grimm's growl became louder, before it stopped abruptly. Draco smiled at it softly. Now that he was closer, he could clearly see the Grimm features. The sharp teeth, wolf like bone structure, The longer legs and sharper claws, the fluffy hair and the big pointy ears, and most of all, the way the dog was almost four feet tall standing on four legs and the strong smell of pine and chocolate.

"Now you see, This one's a special one." The man from the front desk started.
