A platinum blonde boy tried to sit near him, but as usual, Harry began to growl. To Harry's utter satisfaction, the boy hesitated. The blonde sat down despite the growling, and Harry growled louder. Suddenly, a pleasant smell reached his nose.

Vanilla.

The smell of Vanilla was just like catnip to Harry. It made him go crazy. His mind turned to jello and he sniffed at the boy happily, his tail wagging slightly. The vanilla reminded him of the candles at home and the beautiful vanilla pudding his dad made. It made him miss his dad and his home even more, as he's been eating nothing but dog kibble since he got here about a month ago.

"Now you see, This one's a special one." Josh said. Harry mentally thanked him. He was going to get out of here if these people decided to buy him, and if they did then he could finally see his father and eat something other than dog kibble. He knew because he could smell the magic on them. They weren't muggles. Harry could tell they were pureblooded, and not only that, the boy smelled like vanilla!

"He's one of our biggest dogs. We aren't sure what breed he is exactly so he may be a mutt or large dog breed mixed with a wolf. He's one of our cleanest and healthiest animals." Josh told the older blonde guy, probably Vanilla's (as Harry had dubbed him) dad.

Harry heard them talking about him earlier, saying how he was a Grimm. If they knew what that meant they'd probably force themselves to buy him because they didn't want to see a Grimm's bad side. Grimms are omens of death, and even just seeing a Grimm is considering terrifying and bad luck. So, Imagine leaving one at the pound.

"Father, Can we get the Grimm?" The blonde boy asked with a smile. The older blonde didn't seem so pleased. His thoughts were most likely along the lines of 'A Grimm is an omen of death, if we keep it as a pet does that mean that death will follow us everywhere? Or does that mean that if we treat the Grimm well it won't foreshadow death?'

Harry could understand his concerns, even though he hadn't taken the concerns into account before. If he had a son, he wouldn't be jumping at the opportunity to take an omen of death home. But it was either get on the Grimm's bad side or take it with you. Of course any sane person would take the Grimm with them.

It seemed that the two blondes were sane people, as Vanilla's father finally nodded and asked Josh to grab the papers. As the older blonde signed the papers with Josh, Vanilla turned back to Harry, making his tail wag slightly. Vanilla truly was his favourite smell.

"Draco, What are you naming it?" Vanilla's dad asked. Draco paused and turned. "Is it a boy or a girl?" He asked his father. With a quick check to the adoption papers, Vanilla's dad replied, "Male." and Vanilla (Draco) sat and thought for a while.

"Samael." Vanilla said after a while. 'Oh.' Was Harry's only thought. It seemed that Vanilla's dad also realized the meaning as his eyes slightly widened and Josh scribbled down on the papers.

Samael the Archangel. The venom of god in Hebrew and the archangel in post-Talmudic lore. An accuser, seducer and destroyer. Biblically the Angel of Death, Satan or the Grim Reaper. The Serpent who tempted Eve and the father of Cain. What a terrible name.

At the very least Vanilla didn't name him Cain. It would have been even worse, considering he was a dog. A Grimm, yes, but still a dog. a Cain(ine).

Harry couldn't help but slightly like it, despite the fact that he was named such for being a Grimm. With the papers signed, the pound supplied them with the biggest collar and thickest leash they had, though they advised Vanilla and his dad to buy a collar soon, as this one wouldn't be good.

They took Harry, or Samael, out of the cage and clipped him on the collar and the leash and holy crap Harry could feel just how tight the colour was around his neck. He whined and sat down before using his leg to scratch at his collar. Telling them to take the collar off immediately.

His message seemed to get through, as Vanilla and his dad left as quickly as possible and got Samael in the car before taking the collar off. Samael jumped onto the leather seat beside Draco as Vanilla's dad started driving and shifted back into a human for the first time in a month. No doubt, he smelled terribly and could feel all his bones cracking as he stretched. He almost found it difficult to shift back to human from how long he had been in Grimm form. His bones cracking as he shifted really showed how much staying in animal form affected him.

"Oh thank god you got me out of there. You have no idea how horrible it was." Harry (Samael) stated with a sigh as he stretched and cracked more of his bones. Harry swore his human form had gotten a little smaller and out of shape after being on a kibble diet for a month.
