As I sit in a small coffee shop, drinking my usual, I just think about all the thoughts running through my mind.

Why me?

Why my parents?

Why?

"Miss, not trying to be rude but, could you quite down," a man next to my table says.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't realize I was talking out loud," I shyly respond.

He just rolls his eyes and turns around.

As I take another sip of my coffee my eyes glare at the flatscreen t.v. against the wall.

"In other news, another fire was set today. Police officials have yet to release details on how the fire started but, we do know that there were 3 residents of the home. Sadly a male and female didn't survive. Evidence shows that a male of about 18 lived and will be in foster care soon," the news lady states in her fake 'sad' voice.

"Hey!" Someone behind the counter yells in my direction.

I snap out of my trance and quickly stand up. I had dropped my cup. The hot liquid is splattered across the floor.

What's happening?

"I-I'm sorry," I stutter before running out of the shop.

...

I have to figure out what's going on.

Nothing's going on.

Shut up brain!

I practically jump at the sudden vibration coming from my jeans pocket. I pull out my boring flip phone, recollect myself and answer the call.

"Hi.." I answer.

"Hey, where are you?," a familiar voice asks. Avory.

Oh my God. That's it! Avory and Danni.

"Ally?" She cuts through my thought.

"I'm at home.." I quickly answer and hang up.

I rush to the parking lot and unlock my bicycle from a pole. I hop on and 'drive like a crazy person' to the orphanage.

I run inside and frantically run upstairs. Ms. Burks is nowhere in sight.

There are three floors in this building with about 5 rooms on each floor. I plan on talking to each and ever girl in those rooms.

I walk to the room right next to mine.

"Come in!" A voice chimes from the other side.

I slowly open the door to a girl reading on her bed. Andrea.

"Hi. Sorry to inturupt bu-" she cuts me off with her peppy voice.

"Not at all, this book is boring anyway. What's up Ally?" She asks gesturing for me to sit.
