"This isn't happening," I mumble, over and over again, rocking back and forth on my fathers apartment floor.
He's been on the phone calling - I don't really know - for the past hour.
I can't accept this. The only woman that I have seen as a mother killed my mother. It makes no sense. Why? Why?
"Let's go. Get up. Come on Ally," my father says, helping me up of the floor.
"What?" I state blandly.
"Were going to the police station right now," he instructs, picking up the letter and video.
I follow wearily behind, tears glued to my cheek.
In the car, I pull out my phone. Three missed calls and at least a hundred texts. All from Brian, Avory and Danni.
I call Brian first, nibbling the inside of my cheek.
"Ally what the hell! Where are you! What's going on?" He asks, never leaving a space for me to etch a word in.
"Brian," I mumble, whiping tears from my cheek.
"Ally what's going on?" He asks, voice softening.
"I know who killed my mom. I know who's been setting the fires," I breath, a weight lifting off my shoulders.
"How? Who?" He asks eagerly.
"Meet me at the police station. Bring Avory and Danni. They deserve to know who killed their parents," I shake lightly, glancing out the window as my dad speeds down the highway.
"I'll be there," he answers hurriedly, hanging up his end of the call.
I slowly turn my phone off, taking deep breaths and continuing the drive with my dad.
The drive was excruciating and after an infinity of time, we finally arrive.
I hop out of the car, rushing inside with my father tight on my tail.
"Ally!" Brian, Danni and Avory say in unison, standing and hugging me tight.
"Who!" Avory asks, pulling away.
"Av," I say slowly.
"Save it. I want to know who the it was! She killed my parents in cold blood. She ruined me and my sister," she says, anger filling her hurt words.
"Ms. Bur-" I start to say before the doors burst open and two men in black stand with guns held high.
"Duck!" My father yells, pulling Danni down.
Just as I crouch begin the counter, a shot pierces the wall behind me.
I can't see anything.
Behind all the gunshots and screaming, Brian yells; "Avory!"
I crawl slightly out from behind the counter. She is laying on the floor with blood streaming from her arm.
A whole bunch of S.W.A.T. people where handcuffing the men, pushing them out the door.
"Avory!" I yell, coming out from my hiding place and running to her side, crouching down beside her and putting pressure on her wound.
"Danni, call the ambulance!" I instruct as she and my father emerges from a back room.
She nods, shakily pulling out her phone and dialing a number.
"Don't you dare close your eyes," I demand, shaking Avory lightly.
"Don't leave us," Brian adds, pulling her close to him.
Her eyes close slowly as she squeezes my forearm.
"Please," Brian whispers.
"We're in a freaking police station for Gods sake! Someone help us!" Danni yells out the door, catching everyones attention.
Men come in with streachers and first aid kits, placing Avory on a stretcher and forcing us all out the door.
After a million and one questions and a long ass explanation of the entire story, we finally got the stupid police to the orphanage.
I stand, hand in hand, with my father and Danni - Avory and Brian went to the hospital - as they bang in the front door, minutes later emerging with the 53 year old lady, handcuffs holding her in place.
"It's finally over," I mumble, squeezing my fathers hand.
"Thank you," Danni weakly smiles, wrapping her arms around me.
"Any time," I joke, watching as the horror of my whole life washes before my very eyes before seeing myself in this exact place. Watching the woman who ruined my whole life finally being put to justice.
