"Wake up! Ally! Ally, wake up!"
My eyes shoot open, my heart beating irregularly. My breathing is fast and my mind puts together the fact that the nightmare happened again.
"Ally, are you alright?" Danni voice is present in the dark room.
"Y-ya. Thank you. I'm fine," I answer. I feel her hand against my back and a small body sits on my bed.
"Was it a nightmare?" Avory asks. It's nice knowing what their voices sound like, so I don't mix them up.
"Ya. Sorry I woke you." My breathing slowly returns to normal.
As my eyes adjust to the black room, I see Avory with her phone to her ear.
"Avory.. What are you doing?" I ask, leaning against the wall.
"I'm calling Brian," she answers.
"What! Why?" I quickly scramble to sit up.
"She's right Ally." Danni assures me.
"What are you guys talking about. I don't want to talk to him," I hold back my need to have his arms around me.
Whenever I have a nightmare, which only happens on my birthday, I always call him. For some reason I didn't a couple days ago.
"We aren't supposed to tell you," Danni says as Avory steps into the hall.
"Tell me what? You guys are already keeping secrets from me!" My heart speeds up again.
She thinks for a minute before realizing how bad my life has been.
"Brian told Avory and I that, if you ever have a nightmare, to call him. No matter how late," her voice is quiet. "I'm sorry, we just wanted to help."
A tear rolls down my cheek. In a matter of minutes a knock appears at my window.
Avory springs up to open it, hugging Brian and stepping out of the room, dragging Danni with her.
"Ally.." Brian trails off.
"You knew I would have a nightmare tonight, didn't you? How?" My eyes fill with hot liquid.
"Remember when you were 6, you and I did research on your mother. That night you had a nightmare and it wasn't your birthday. Ally, whenever you get new information or try to fix the problem," he sits on my bed. "The nightmares begin."
I sit on my knees and hug him tight. "Thank you," I mumble against his neck.
"I'm sorry for what I said in the hallway yesterday. I really am. I just, didn't want this to happen again. I told the twins to call me if you have a nightmare," he kisses my forehead.
He really cares about me.
"I understand. Thank you for caring," I smile.
He slades his finger under my eyes to wipe the tears. "Should I stay?"
"Please," I whisper.
He walks to the door and invites the twins back in, telling them how he's gonna spend the night.
He slides his shirt off of his tan frame and slides under the sheets with me.
"Thank you guys," I whisper closing my eyes.
"Of course," Avory's voice is soft.
"Anytime," Danni says.
Brian just wraps his arms tighter around me.
I don't care if I have nightmares anymore. I have friends who care.
