The raspy rumble that took birth in her chest raging to scream out, as the sparks of pain threatened to diffuse out of every vesicle in her trembling body. Trembling, not out of fear but from revenge oozing out of every cell in her embodiment that kneeled in the middle of a bloodshed caused by her own manus. A yell transmuted to a wail broke her lungs sending the few crows that had approached the massacre in hopes of feasting, into a dismayed array of chaos and confusion.

The indefinite pieces of flesh that once corresponded the humane body of her only enemy ages older and powerful than any human to walk the land of thalys. Cut and torn to miscellaneous irregular shards of flesh and dried blood the cause being daggers and even human nails.

The soft muddy land sinking her bruised knees below, patterned with streaks of blood painting the expanse of her small realm filled with her psychotic thirst for revenge. Bands of guilt and sickening despair gripped at her throat like snakes tightening their grip over a trodden log.

The immense pleasure of revenge didn't seem to satiate the hurt and desperation that had weighed down her person for years and ruined her being, scarring her existence. It didn't matter anymore, what was to be done, was done, the epiphany of meeting her guardians again didn't make up for the fact that they had lost more than they could ever replace by earning again. Family, happiness and pleasure, company and affection, security and need, hope for a better life, it all didn't matter.

The blood that was meant to be spilt was done. The pain to be felt was sunken into every living human that remained. The skies resembled her rage chaining her melancholy to the darkened clouds hiding the sun from shining it's waning hope on her skin. Black drops of condensed ice descended the heavens cursing the land of humans with a downpour of regret and guilt.

After all, what was left were scarred souls yearning for relief, breaking and melting down in the evening of a victorious battle between not good and evil but the broken and the sealed.

"Brianne," his voice rugged and guttural but smeared with concern and compassion for the female in question reached her ears, snapping her neck in a second to visualise the incoming form of her only companion and friend, maybe even something more. "Happy to see you alive." it was a statement, stoic but she knew it as a friendly comment that was exchanged since childhood to illustrate care and hope. "Happy to see u too marian."

"You did devour him like you said," just a nod, a confirmation of what had been done. "Hey look at me, it's fine." his muscular palm tangled gently into her navy blue locks, gripping her nape tenderly as possible, his eyes overflowing with the sincerity he hoped to convey through his actions. Never once did she fail to feel his comfort embracing his warmth as hers.

"What to do next?"
"I don't know,"
"What do you wanna do?"
"I don't know, marian-"
"Don't let your vengeance eat you up" the last of her tears streamed down without putting up a fight as tears turned to sobs, and she was soon crying into his clothed chest weighing on him her failure, disgust and despair. The flame dying down in slow fumes burning out the energy she meant to use against her opponent, alas it only shred her of her humanity.

"Take up the throne," her blue orbs reflected fear and doubt, Marian however, stood up gesturing her to do the same. "You among all the humans I have met all my life, Brianne, you are capable, strong, and brave but above all you are kind hearted, honest and at this very moment the pride of Thalys. You may have killed him out of sheer desperation, but you have also saved the people."

Sparks of gratitude and warmth spread through her blood as the man's words sank in. hesitation, though, doubts winded her mind, creases forming on her forehead as it always did when she was thinking hard. "How is it possible though, i'm no royalty."

"It takes not bloodline, or native roots, but qualities courage and willpower to lead Thalys. Are you ready to be crowned queen of Thalys, Brianne Arvin Orlendo." she could see his confidence and trust, the reflection of the clearing skies lighting his orbs in a deep brown, love that flowed with warmth reaching her heart in all its glory.

What was left of this was the cliche, true act of love, as her lips sank in wetting his, in response to the sincere request. Connected and healed, they were nothing less but knotted spirits destined for eternal bliss.
