PUNCH 9

" you did very well on your first go against me." Ace said with a proud smile on his face. he held an ice pack to his swollen cheek. apart from a swollen cheek, he now had a black eye and a cut on his upper lip. we had to head home after the training. and the following day was Saturday, so I did not have to go to school. it started like any other day but then at lunchtime, I received a call from Mike and he sounded both excited and scared simultaneously. he told me that our team was needed because something had arisen. he then told me to meet him at the headquarters where I would find the others. so without wasting any time, I headed to the headquarters without asking any questions. 

" This is Prince, the leader of an underground mafia gang ."Mike said while stroking his tiny beard.    "uh, so you want us to go undercover as recruits." Darius said with a bored look on his face. Ace on the other hand was silent the entire time while Mike briefed us about the mission. the briefing took thirty minutes and for all that time Darius had a scowl. the image of Prince was of a guy who appeared to be in his late teens. he had jet black hair and silver studs in his ears. he seemed deep in thought. his jaw was sharp and he had a few tatoes. in his hand, he held a cigarette. soon, we were ready to go but I was surprised to see the guys walking into the briefing room. they all looked bored apart from Leo who had a mysterious glint in his eyes. Liam smiled at me but it quickly vanished as soon as he saw Ace. Devon strolled to the right behind Liam. he had his hands in his pockets and like usual, was dressed in black. then my brother also walked in looking happy. " hey Tess." he greeted me cheerfully." Hey." I greeted him back to which he nodded. Lucas came in looking angry. I was starting to wonder what was wrong with him but when my eyes landed on his hair, I had to bite back a laugh so as not to laugh at him openly. his hair looked like a unicorn had puked all over it. " I can't live with him anymore, I want him off my team this instant," Liam said angrily. "I think you are overreacting a little," Mike said while laughing. " yeah, you see, even chief thinks the prank was hilarious," Leo said smugly. " okay, nobody starts throwing punches. Leo, you are off the team......... you can however join Ace and his team. " alright lad, welcome to the team." Ace said.  " provided you do not prank us as well." I said not looking at him. " you got it, sugar queen." he replied with a wink which I happened to catch a glimpse of as I lifted my head and turned it to the side. just then, I heard a smacking sound and saw Leo clutching his head with a pained expression on his face. It turns out that Liam had smacked him upside the head. as he rubbed the spot with a pout on his face which gave him an innocent look, Mike handed us all files that contained details of our cover characters. mine had a photo of a  girl with red hair, blue eyes, and a handful of freckles peppered on her face. then I read what was written right below the photograph the following  was written

Avid writer and lives with her two brothers there was a bit more information but I will not bore you with those details because it bores me as well but because I ought to read the whole page so that is what I did and for the next thirty minutes we all did just that. 

at the end of the evening, we were packed and ready to go so we all jumped into the car and had a three-hour ride to the city of Green Hills where we would now be staying until our mission was complete.
