Chapter 1 : Introductions of Friends and Future Foes

I kept my gaze to the ground, feeling everyone's eyes on me. As much as I wanted to jump up and down in excitement and meet my favorite characters, I still have no idea what is going on.

"Hey- Are you all this year's freshmen?" Yuki asked them. 

"Yup! You two are the last to come. Though, I shouldn't make fun of you both cause I was the fourteenth!" Mitch grinned.

"Whoa...you all came early... I thought I could take some time coming here since the call time was eight." Yuki breathed. 

"Hm? Not really. It hasn't been long since we all gathered here." Kiyoka reassured him. "It was like a group of late students rushing in all at once." 

"Then did you all just arrive here?" 

"I suppose so. Now that you came, we're finally all here." Tsurugi smiled. Little did he know it would be the last time he smiled in a while.

"Um... nice to meet you all. So we're all going to be classmates this year." Yuki smiled back awkwardly. 

"Huh...I'm already looking forward to this new school life in Hope's Peak Academy." Ayame chuckled. 

"I thought of a bunch of weirdos when I heard this Ultimate thing, but you guys look pretty normal than what I thought." Kizuna said happily.

"So it wasn't just me. I was half excited and half worried over what my classmates would be like." Haruhiko admitted. 

I finally found the courage to look up. To maybe make eye contact without either fangirling or fainting. The first person I saw was Akane, a curious look on her face. She gave a kind smile when she met my gaze, before turning to everyone.

"Hey, guys. How about introducing ourselves to each other since we all came here?" She suggested. 

"You mean... a self introduction?" Kakeru questioned. 

"It will take a while for the teachers to get here, and we don't even know each other's names yet." Akane replied. "If we're going to be classmates in Hope's Peak Academy, shouldn't we get to know about others?" 

"I-Icebreakers..." Teruya piped up. "I'm feelin a bit all-overish." 

"But isn't it a good idea? There's nothing else to do here anyway." Kiyoka shrugged. "Besides, we should at least know each other's names."

"Then we have it settled." Kanata smiled.

"Sorry, I just realized I never got your name." To my surprise, Yuki came to me first. 

The protagonist is talking to me first!? 

I don't know why, but it felt pretty damn good. 

"I...uh...I'm Y/n L/n! Nice to meet you."

He paused for a moment. "Hm, I don't think I've heard of you. If you don't mind, what's your talent?"

....oh fuck me...

He was staring at me with adoration in his eyes. I panicked. I was just in a typical outfit, with my hair in a typical style. I was just a typical girl, and I can't believe they actually believed me when I said I was an ultimate. 

Well, I never actually said I was an ultimate but still-

I wanted to slap myself. I was overthinking again. I pretended to yawn to buy myself a few more seconds to think.
