"Minju, what are you doing here?" Chaewon asked.
"N-nothing!"
Kim Chaewon narrowed her eyes. If it was really nothing that Minju was doing, then why was she so flustered?
"What are YOU doing here?" Minju asked.
"Just taking an evening walk"
"You don't take evening walks"
"Neither do you"
"I never said I was"
"Well, then what are you doing out here?"
"Why are you suspicious of me? I'm your girlfriend!"
"I'm a spy. It's my job to be suspicious of people" with a less intimidating gaze, she added "The same thing applies to me. Shouldn't we not be keeping secrets?"
Minju bit her lip "They'd be so mad if I told you..."
"They?"
"Just me and the group..."
Chaewon's mind drifted back to when she had met her girlfriend after asking permission from her spy company to date her.
Yuri, Wonyoung, and Hitomi have been following Yena and Yujin around, begging them to teach them martial arts, but so far, they haven't been budging.
"No..." Chaewon muttered "You didn't..."
"I don't know if you're correct or not, but if you are, yes, we did"
"You had combat lessons?"
Minju nodded, embarrassed.
"Who taught you?"
Minju turned even redder.
"Are you going to get mad at them?"
"That depends"
"itwasyenaandyujin"
"Huh?"
"Yena and Yujin"
"They both were in on this?"
Minju gave the slightest nod. "It's a long story"
"And nobody else?"
"I sure hope not" Minju said "We worked pretty hard not to get caught"
Chaewon should have figured out this applied, but it still was somewhat surprising.
"Did you not trust me?"
"We asked you and you said no"
That was a fair point.
"Are you mad?"
"I... I want to be. But honestly, I'm kind of impressed"
Minju snapped up at that "You are?"
Chaewon sighed "You went behind the back of" she started counting on her fingers "Eunbi, Sakura, Hyewon, Chaeyeon, AND me without getting caught. That's 5 professional spies. Versus 5 completely ordinary people - No offense. I can't deny that that's kinda impressive"
"You found out"
"Only after the fact"
"Still..."
Minju tucked her hair behind her ear. How does she look so gorgeous? Chaewon wondered.
"Can you not tell anyone about this? Including your spy friends"
"They're your spy friends too..."
"I know. It still applies"
Chaewon really wanted to say no.
She looked up at Minju's pleading eyes and found herself saying "Fine"
"Thank you" Minju said "I should really get home now"
"Okay. See you later"
"See you later"
-
Chaewon still felt surprised as Minju walked away. It's almost like we were both trained in spying. She thought.
Who would be the best at combat? Chaewon thought to herself.
Hitomi. She thought immediately.
She continued to walk around the park. She was just looking for suspicious activity - sometimes it showed up in the most unexpected of places. She did this often - It wasn't any requirement from her company, but especially after meeting Minju, she felt the need to keep her home safe.
It was quiet.
Chaewon bit her lip. Something was wrong. She just knew it.
And as it turns out, she was right.
